| Quote: Paul Youane "Good news that, he seemed to be the "forgotten man" when all the announcements about academy players training with first team were being made. He certainly looks like having potential to kick on and knows where the try line is.
From the photo I reckon there 15 players on there who are products of our academy system. I would have really liked the club to continue to do the big group photo with all academy teams and service area teams on. Unfortunately it died a death after the first year. It would be really interesting to be able to chart and record player's progression through the ranks.
Also good to see squadbuilder supporting him. How many of the players on that photo have been supported by Squadbuilder at some stage? Not seen a Squadbuilder thread on here for sometime; I fear the demographic on here now is not really that way inclined any more.'"
We kind of discussed this at last week's Trust/SqB board meeting which John Bastian attended. We have plans for this year to increase awareness of the kind of things SqB and the club overall does and try to get a bit more publicity by involving the players, including ones in the senior squad who have already progressed through the Academy.

| Was kind of hoping that there might be a tiny chance that this thread might of been steared into a good honest discussion about rugby and our club's apparent improvement in the field of youth development and the role Squadbuilder might have played in that.
Unsuprisingly it has descended into knob measuring with Wigan and an extension of Facebook involving the texting generation.
With the intent of luring some old-time lurkers out of the shadows can people confirm if they are members of Squadbuilder or the Supporters' Trust.
If members of Squadbuilder do you feel that your "investment" is now paying off or would you rather funds distributed in an alternative manner?
If not a member do you know what Squadbuilder is about and do you think it still relevant in the era of modern stadium, profits and silverware for the club?

I'm a member of squadbuilder but can't always attend the meetings because of other commitments. I think it is a great way of supporting the young players.

[i<raises hand>[/i
I remember from a SqB meeting last year that the emphasis was being turned from funding individual players to more of a team function.
Looking at the squad, it's pretty hard to see anything other than youth development policy and Sqb involvement as a raging success. Any news on forthcoming meeting schedules, Roy/SEB? Been a while.
To the younger contingent who clog up this forum nowadays - have you heard of SquadBuilder? Spend a wee bit of your time checking out what it is about.
