To be honest anything out of the top three will in my books be a bad season. Even a Wembley trip won't lessen the blow if we don't finish in the top three.

Not sure what to make of that. I totally know what you mean actually, like, I want a league season where we really achieve something. We wouldn't have to win it, but a season we consistantly challenge, and a defeat just signals the end of a winning run, and the start of a new one, rather than win one, lose one, win two lose four etc ... (Feels like we've done that for ever)

All this said, 6th and win the CC again say, I think I'd take it y'know in a weird way, even though my mind is screaming that'd be under achievment and inconsistency all over again, It's the bloody cup & the day out, magical.

We could field 2 teams that would get in the top 4.

For years now we have been too capable for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, individual 'brain farts' at the worst possible times, and failing to show up against supposed 'lesser' sides. To be honest. even with Smith in charge, I expect more of the same (mainly because I am sick of expecting better and ending up disappointed).
