Yes, got to agree, Joe Price is a dead cert for this team. He copped an 18 month suspension at one stage. I can remember a Locker Cup Match (or was it the Wardonia Cup) at the end of the sixties, where he scored a good try at the left hand corner of the Fletcher Street End, stood up and punched the Wigan player nearest to him for no apparent reason. The try was given and Joe sent off, I believe that was the start of his 'bad boy' era.
A pack containing Joe and Alan Rathbone wouldn't be a 6 man Pack for very long.

I remember he once fractured Ken Kellys jaw when Ken was still playing for Saints. It was the latest and one of the worst "tackles" I've ever seen. For some unknown reason he didn't get sent off! Cue you would think a line of Saints players seeking retribution!!............Not so........ none of them would go near him. When Joe had the scent of blood in his nostrils it was well known throughout rugby league that it was best to steer clear!!
