| I went to see U2 there on Friday and made sure I scoffed a load of butties for tea before I went in there. However we still had small bags with a few biscuits and crisps etc that they seemed to overlook or not bother looking for. Whatever was left in my drink bottle they just poured into a plastic cup for me- not sure if it would be different for a sporting event.
The food is utter overpriced crap in there. My husband rushed from work and had a measly hot dog (if you can call it that- some plain bread and the sausage- no onions and I had to barter to get some mustard and sauce sachets) for £4! £6 with a drink (known as 'the meal deal') Didnt fill the gap and the rest of the menu just seemed to be bloody nachos with topping (didnt even bother to check how much they would rip you off with that rubbish). Didnt notice any draft beer, but carlsberg for £4 a bottle (poured into a cup) seemed to be all that was being served!
My advice, as soon as you get off the train, nip round the corner and there are loads of little takeaways and newsagents where you can get much cheaper food and cold beers (there's also a pub- but london prices!). Bring it over to outside the stadium, have a boozy picnic and take in the atmosphere before going in.
See you there!

| Forgot to mention!
They patted down my brothers and my husband but not me! Maybe the girls are the best bet to ram sausage rolls down the pockets. There is a Gregg's nearby!

| Quote Rugbychick™="Rugbychick™"I thought you could take bottles into the HJ if they've got no lids on?'"
You can take drinks and food into the HJ without problem. We always buy bottle of pop before the game and take them in with the lids on, we have never had a problem. Quite a few people in the east stand bring picnics with them !. I am not sure whether this has something to do with the bar at the HJ now leaving the lids on as well, I know they used to take them off last year. Maybe its the credit crunch and they think people are less likely to throw the bottles.

| Haha!
People are more inclined to recycle so the threat of throwing bottles is greatly reduced!

| Can people really not go for 2-3 hours with nothing to eat? As I said above, have your luch/picnic/butties before you go in and your tea after you leave.
Simples, no?
I'll probably fork out for a couple of four quid pints inside the ground but the rest of my day's eating and drinking will be from the pub/offy/shop/chippy/wherever.

| Can someone in Latchford drop into Currall's and get me a two Meat & Potato for the game? Will meet you under the twin towers with the cash.
By the way, don't respond if you are arriving in London Thursday/Friday unless you have a radiator in your hotel room to keep them warm.
