On that note:-

Am I alone in thinking that signing SBW (assuming there is even a shred of truth in the rumour) would be an outrageous gamble for at least 2 reasons:-

1- His injury record; and
2 - His well documented 'attitude' problems

Don't get me wrong, I'd back Tony Smith to get Freddy Krueger on the straight and narrow but wouldn't this be the challenge of his life?

Maybe Tony likes a challenge. I very much doubt he is talking to SBW, we are ok in the position that he plays, where we need to strengthen I think is in the halfs and pretty quickly to hopefully.

Couldn't he just take on Gazza!

We are ok in his position at the moment but if the clearout continues there may well be a squad place for him.

TBH I really don't want to know who he is talking to or not talking to ,What I do care about is our lack of depth in the backs and our slowness in movement on replacing Gleeson with 1 or preferably 2 on permanent or even loan deals depending on the quality ,it worries me that we may go the rest of the season playing forwards in the back-line or is it just a case of survive the season sign nobody and build in the off season for next year ,if that is the case I would be looking for a reduction in next seasons, season ticket prices due to the fact that this seasons has been a waste of money and I will not be signing up for my regular D-D scheme until some sort of statement on the way forward is made regarding this and next season and the price for next season is confirmed or maybe I may cherry pick my games for the 1st time in 39yrs of watching the Wire.
