Quote Betty Ford Clinic="Betty Ford Clinic"i was on Bennetts rec watching Padgate St Oswalds footy team a a 14 year old and i remember a guy with a wireless saying to someone that the game had been caled off due to crowd trouble. I ran all the way home to near Woolston High School where i turned on Grandstand and then was faced with the reality of what had happened. My Mum was in tears and all i could think about was one of my mates dad's who went to every game. I ran across the road to find that family in tears, as there were no mobiles in them days they had heard nothing. Suddenly the phone went and it was Alan my friends dad, he was safe, his family was lucky. I still remember Alan coming home after the rescheduled game at Old Trafford and being very somber although we had just won, he was never the same for years. I can't start to think what it must be like for families and friends of people who lost loved ones in the tragedy. I shall take myself out of my workplace at 15.06 and pray for the 96. I think it was that day that i realised that they world can be a nasty place.'"
I too was at Bennett Rec that day watching Woolston Rovers and I can vividly remember going into the clubhouse and seeing the awful scenes on the television.
It is a disgrace that nobody has been held accountable for this awful tragedy, I don't know how those responsible have been able to sleep since and the LIES that were spouted by a certain newspaper were absolutley disgusting and to this day they have never had the balls to apologise.
I will be at Anfield this afternoon to pay my respects to the 96.
RIP
YOU WILL NEVER WALK ALONE
JUSTICE FOR THE 96
