My concern is that we are getting just like RedVee which is the forum that some on here laugh at. No personal vendetta ... just seeing the trend.
We don't want to end up like that. However, the current position of the club is in the negative tense, which is very sad. The shining light every week is the young players showing us that there is hope. The top order of the management structure has to do better. The coach has to do better. Get this right and the team does better, the attendance is better and we shift into the positive tense once again.

| Wane doesn't give a poop about Warrington. He cares about Wigan, and that's fine - he is a Wiganer. You're dreaming if you think he comes to Warrington and cares about 'sorting us out' - there's no reason he gets a different outcome from any of the coaches who've tried before.
Burgess had many of the attributes we were after - young, hungry, energetic - but his lack of experience has shown and he seems to care more about defending himself and denying there's an issue than about admitting and learning from mistakes. Even Wires71 would have forgiven him for one error but he seems to compound bad decisions with aloofness, and its a toxic mix.

| We sign another Aussie looking for a payday in a position we don't even need... apparently.

Wayne would be ideal but can't see him coming here..but whoever we get he.ll still have the majority of this lot to deal with...season's end show a few of em the door..just hope the recruitment is bang on...think there's more chance of me winning the lottery And on the subject of recruitment, I see we've added Ryan Matterson to our portfolio. Looks like Sam Stone with a tan.

Thanks for the name check. You are right though I was a Sam fan right up until the shambles in Vegas told me all I needed to know. Now, onto the point, (I'm not arguing BTW), but wasn't Wane interviewed at the same time as Powell?

I think there's every chance Wane would be attracted to the money, rather I find it hard to believe he would have the energy and drive to tear the club limb from limb in the way people are describing. He'd do it for 18 months, get well paid and then walk away claiming the Illuminati had stopped him from enacting his plan. Basically the Daryl Powell model.

| On loan until end of the season, which is in September. So, in other words he ain't good enough for his own team. Great.

There are plenty of precedents of this working; not least when we've signed Wardle and Bateman previously. Who knows what will happen here but I don't think this tenure automatically makes it a bad idea.

Anyone coming over from Australia at 30 years old, with 8 games left of the season because they can't get in their own team abd specialises in a position we don't need help in is a terrible move.

Just as an aside, as Just Browny said, John Bateman was 30, joined in late July 2024 with 8 league games remaining, and couldn't get in the West Tigers side. He made a positive contribution.

| He can make a wonderful contribution…but in the words of Kyle Amor ‘it matters not’. We could win every game (we won’t win 4) and still we wouldn’t qualify.

Bateman didn't do that well and nobody will remember his stint. Did well defensively but offered almost nothing in attack. If Matterson is another Bateman (he isn't) then we don't need him. We aren't getting relegated and we aren't making the playoffs off the back of an anonymous second rower. Just look at what his own speccies say. They don't want him back next year.
