This is another reason why the Salary cap should be raised to a level where we can pay the very best players in the world to come to our league.

| Our academy players are coming just need a couple of years.
Hopefully we can stop Saints and Wigan stealing them at 14 and 15.

you wont have heard what sinfield said after the grand final then? like he stated most of the leeds squad could move to another team and make a lot more money than they do at leeds but they want to play for the club. they have a passion instilled into them through the club and they are happy to be paid less so that they can be with the club. probably the same for a lot of saints players.
Also someone noted leeds have a lot of home grown players. you'd be surprised that these lads arent on as much as people think. they have been with leeds all their lives and want to play for the club rather than earn a little bit more. they are happy and comfy. I'd say sinfield is on the most at Leeds, but i reckon King matches or surpasses what he is on

| If we're talking about home grown players, it's worth noting that Wigan's proud boast is smashed to bits by the fact they have nine overseas players on their books.

Couple of points:
i) in relation to Sinfield it appears you missed the 100% nailed-on signing for Warrington last year only for it all to fall through because (delete as appropriate depending upon the degree of your mental illness): a) Leeds gazumped our offer; or b) the housing market in Stocken Heath crashed.
and
ii) if all your youngsters are paid minimum wage (its not as if any of our youngsters supplement their wages by working at Halfords) and yet the highest paid player is on less than King then how much are Leeds operating under the cap? Because, despite what the "internet-know-nothings" would have you believe, Warrington operate at the cap yet you reckon we pay all our basic squad members more because they're not homegrown (ignoring that alot of our squad is and many others were signed as teenagers) and our highest paid players are paid more than Leeds'.
If you think about it, the logic just doesn't stand-up to scrutiny.
I would suggest that in the day and age of professional agents then every player is paid his market worth. The advantage of having home-grown players and long serving players is that you can re-new contracts before the player goes onto the open market where clubs may pay over the actual market worth of the player due to scarcity of good or goodish players on the open market.

Ben Harrison was in the World Cup squad for Ireland and Chris Bridge was supposed to be IIRC?

Should introduce a "Tebbitt" like test. If you can't speak and write in English then you should be excluded from the country.

Bridge and Harrison are not irish, because of the rule were you have a family member from ireland they can played for ireland which is what they did like Pat Richards and many more im sure as it was a world cup year. Last year Tony Smith told Bridge and Harrison to change back to england
