I see myself as being from Cheshire not Lancashire. I know we are now in Cheshire & were once in Lancashire but I don't feel any affiliation to Lancashire.

Apparently being a Unitary Authority means Warrington is not actually in a county these days apart from for ceremonial purposes ,fire brigade ,police ,ambulance & one or two other services provided by Cheshire.

This is spot on . The geographical boundary of Lancashire in the south is still the River Mersey. The boundary changes that took place in the early 70's was for administration purposes only. |
