I wonder if Warrington will ever be any more than a roller coaster club who can be classed as there or there-abouts. I've watched since the sixties & they have never continuously set the world alight even though we have had plenty of magnificent wins in that time. I have never really expected them to become a club that will build a dynasty & can't see that happening anytime soon. With what players are available it could well be a hard slog for whichever coach we get & maybe a couple of locals maybe more prepared for long term rebuilding than a fly by night Aussie.

From the interview with Middleton it seemed to me they were happy with KFP from a commercial point of view, he talked about possibly giving Powell 100% leeway on signings was a mistake and that KFP has made mistakes with that in the past.

I just wonder if they are considering a Director of Rugby, and if so would Chambers be in with a shout? He seems well respected within the club and seems to have done a decent job with the youth structure so far - presumably something a Director of Rugby would continue to be in charge of?

Really? Usually I’m accused of being too positive. It’s true though I often have a different point of view to you, I can handle that…

But... there is no reason we cannot compete at the very top of SL given our fundamentals now. We are a wealthy club with a large following, excellent facilities, modern stadium in a large town. Why on earth can we not compete with St Helens? To suggest "it was ever thus" is defeatist in my view and lacks ambition.

I have made a pledge never to moan again & hopefully I never will.
Unless of course someone comes up with a pile of cr*p which is meant to damage the club.
I'm looking forward to the rest of the season. Our current coaching team are under relatively less pressure & I hope they enjoy the unique coaching situation that they find themselves in.
