This thread appears prior to every cup draw.
It never ceases to amaze me why anyone would want anything but to be drawn at home to the lowest ranked team.

Highest possibility of progressing to the next round.
Increased prize money and revenue.
Opportunity to rest those with minor injuries.
Potential to give first team experience to the Academy players.
And, importantly right now, giving the squad the chance to improve form and confidence.

A chance to see a new ground, or have a day out? I want Shef, so I can get the train down from Hull. Don't really see how that can 'amaze' you?

Genuine question. We draw Oldham at home and put 60 on them. Does the squad really learn anything? They are expected to do that anyway so anything less could have a negative effect on the team. You could argue they get confidence from the demolition if they manage to do so, but then we play Salford the week after and fall behind at the start like we have been doing recently, that whole confidence will be shot straight away as the players will know they weren't playing elite competition - no disrespect to Oldham, just an example.

I want an away day experience, somewhere different if possible but if not, the challenge of a SL team. Yes, I want to win the CC but it's too soon to be thinking about that already wouldn't you say? A lot of us think we have one of the best squads in SL, so why be scared of drawing the other big teams or Wigan?

Missed yesterdays game due to work but already booked off the next round now so hopefully lower division side away.

Stadiums built pre the breeze block/white scaffolding flat pack designs we have now are the ones with real character, and whilst I wouldn't want to be housed in one of these every game of the season, the chance to stand in some cold, rickety stadium adds something a bit different to a rugby game.

Lower league club away for me, home or away I'd expect us to beat a part time squad. If we draw a SL then I'd want a home draw.

There's not really a club with a stadium like that left in the draw. Fev is a cracking ground and will be SL standard once they've put up the 2 stands they have bought from Scarborough. Batley is also quite modern. Both have a very significant slope. The game I would want is oldham away, just to give them a good payday.
As regards being afraid of playing Wigan etc, I think any coach would jump at the opportunity to play a lower league side and give some of the stars a week off.

Not too fussed who we get really - we can beat anyone on our day and most teams when below par.

Would like to play one of the more local lower league sides - Oldham/Swinton and more so Leigh.
