| I didn't realise there was such a big connection with the Bradford team of the late 90"s and early 2000's but now you mention it.
So players were Parker, Johnson, Reardon, Forshaw and Logan Swann. Then Lowes and Anderson on the coaching set up. Did Henderson play for them as well or was that his brother.

| Quote: Smiffy27 "We always have big debates about our choice of subs.
Most prior to a game demand 4 forwards. e.g. on our last game v Hull. When Price got so much stick for picking a back on the bench.
This game v Wigan was one example where we would have loved to have had a back to come on after Monaghan & Ratchford went off.'"
If down to me, start 3 props and bench of 2 props one mobile prop/back rower/utility like Davis and one utility back like Mamo. No hooker bollox interchange. No place for Ashton unless he comes straight in for an injured 1,2,5.

| You’ve made me think RD. Maybe we should look at using a sub as a potential game breaker rather than just to maintain the status quo. Someone with the scorching pace of Ashton could turn a game on its head. I appreciate this is not the way subs are used, but maybe we should consider it?

Chris Bridge signed from Bradford as well. Great servant for us.

Ashton is still raw. Mamo isn’t so far off his pace either....but Mano will give you quality utility cover at 1,2,3,4,5 and perhaps 9,13 if backed against a wall. However if Ratchford was injured ahead of a game I’d go Ashton in at 1 and Mamo still starting on the bench because his utility is far greater scope than Ashton.
No issue about Ashton being a possible game changer, but I don’t see him offering enough to forfeit 3/4 cover and having to bring a winger to play centre, just to play Ashton on the wing. That requires double disruption opposed to a simple like for like swap that Mamo offers.

| Listening to Richie Mathers talk on Pricey’s pending departure, he gave the impression that he was to be replaced anyway, citing another barren season and brand of 5 drives and a kick attack as bases for this apparent mutualism. Kirkpatrick being more mutual that most.

If that’s the case then our recruitment of his successor must be in line with that thinking. Wane, Bennett, Bellamy (unlikely anyway) etc. can be discounted immediately if you don’t want ‘percentage style’.
Realistically, most Aussie coaches favour that approach. The Walker brothers are making a splash with their fresh approach, they could be outside candidates. Unless Trent Robinson or Ivan Cleary become available, I can see a pretty average candidate pool if you don’t want that style of coach.

What’s that on?
Yeah he’s not thick Price. Knew his contract wasn’t getting renewed so got in there first and now has a free hit really this year.

Enigmatic, rudderless (no-one seemed to know best where to play him) and rather injury prone from 2005-2009, then unstoppable/brilliant for a few seasons from then onwards. Anyway that's my lasting impression, don't know if the stats collaborate, but I though he was fantastic for a good few seasons after a rather flaky start.

Didn't Price try that, but then just left Mamo on the bench for 78 minutes......

I would call for slightly more than 2 minutes to turn a game on its head. I suppose the problem with this approach is how it impacts on rotation.

| Very surprised to see this announcement being done this way.
We aren't mid season, he should just go now.... walk away with his held held high and with people shaking him by the hand.
give someone the job on a temp basis, while the club has a look around.
All that we are doing now, is waiting for the first few poor results before a good lynching and him being removed anyway.
The players are hardly going to be fired up going into the new season, with a coach who is on the beach.

We are all different. I see no problem.
Players will be fine. Club knows where it stands. It gives us time to make appointment. All good.

I’ve been impressed with Trent Robinson’s coaching for years. Knows just about how long to stay at a club too. Not a fan of the Aussie coaches but TR fits the peg hole at Wire. Count on 2 fingers who’d I’d have as Wire, and he’d be one of them.
