And this is the same Holbrook who has been sacked by Titans because of results?

Was he a great coach at Saints or a poor coach at Titans?
Did he recruit the Saints side or was it handed to him on a plate by (I think) Anderson?
Interesting points.'"
Have you seen the Titans squad? I’d say he overachieved last season with them and that they are where you would expect them to be this season.

He picked up the KFC mess
So nothing handed to him on a plate - although the sum of the parts was better than what KFC was getting out of them at that point

| Holbrook won one trophy with a squad that was far superior to any other at the time.
He lost 3 important knockout games. Two of them to a Steve Price team that wasn't exactly full of world beaters.
Are we absolutely sure this is a good idea?

The coach that inherited that squad won 3 in a row without having to do anything, and was only spared the sack due to a pandemic. The worm turned under Holbrook, which looked absolutely impossible under Cunningham

I think the fact that Saints fans are terrified of him going to Wire or Leeds says it all. When Holbrook took over Saints, the club was absolutely toxic. We'd had an awful period (for us) under Cunningham, the recruitment was tragic and we were fast becoming Hull FC. Holbrook wasn't an instant success, but you could see the improvement week in week out. He changed the club in it's entirety too, not just the first team, the entire club. He made changes to the academy setup, the coaching structures and the community involvement. He turned a toxic club, scared to do anything in the community because of how poor the relationship was with the fans into a brilliantly cohesive setup. He improved the communication with the fans, the frustrations we'd had about recruitment and media silence about injuries were gone. He brought the club and the town back together.
The signings we made under Holbrook were fantastic and he turned the club around. Had he not left, he 100% would have continued the success. Woolf to his credit actually improved it again by improving our defending, but the last 6 or 7 years have been brilliant because of the work Holbrook did.
You are absolutely insane if you do not support Warrington firing that fraud Powell and signing Holbrook.

I don’t disagree with anything you said there but aren’t you making a big assumption - would Holbrook even be interested? Not sure I would.

I imagine Holbrook would be interested - it's us that won't be interested.

I'd be interested (in Holbrook not me being the next coach). Mind you what do I know as I'll readily admit to being an advocate of replacing Price with Watson, who obviously enjoyed his 'free hit' at Salford more than he is over in Huddersfield currently.

Offer a £1M bonus if he wins a GF. That would interest him.

How are you so sure that would not interest him? Everyone has a price don't they?

I'm not suggesting there's anything in it. But writing Holbrook off as an option on the grounds he's not a good choice is madness.

| I am writing it off in that OUR BOARD will not think it's a good option and it won't happen - rightly or wrongly.
Powell will get the full 3 seasons, maybe receiving a 60 point kicking tonight might do something but I even doubt that. In fairness to Powell and after some deliberation (I don't think he's the right man) it would be wrong to give him the boot right now - we are second in the league after all. I doubt he can, but if he can arrest this freefall and get us looking likely to win a GF in the next month then he'll be proving his coaching credentials. I'd consider this period his last chance though.
Personally I think we're heading for a long losing streak, hope I'm wrong.
