| Quote: GIANT DAZ "Not sure how good they are as i've never been but the nearest ones i can think of are
Nawaab - which is just around the corner from the station - follow the road that runs through St Georges square round to the left and its just across the crossroads.
Chilli Lounge - literally at the side of the George Hotel( away from the station)
Shabab, which is further into town, turn left at the crossroads in the square, if you've come from the ground, and follow New Street past Mcdonalds, KFC, and its down a little alley on your left across from Yorkshire Bank.
Or Balooshai central, turn right at the st george's square crossroads, past Tesco and turn right to the railway arches and its down there.'"
Thanks Daz and Sandra the Terrorist all sounds good to me so good in fact I might suggest to the boys that we set off tomorrow and make a weekend of it...not sure mrs rico will approve.

| Just thinking how just how good our Cup record has been in recent years, bar the Wigan defeat in 2011 you have to go back to 2008 and a Penny hat-trick at Saints an yet another lead let slip.
If you had said to me walking out that sunny afternoon we will lose once in next 5 years, I would of said your on crack.

| Just another quickie if any of you lot are stopping around town for a bit after, you maybe interested in this https://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a4/giantdaz74/1069215_133170210227428_287984354_n_zps84690ec2.jpg" >rl
to find it, walk up towards the station but turn left once you've crossed the ring road and its the next right.
I know a few Wire fans have been in here before after the games and siad they've enjoyed it .

| If I get there early enough, was thinking of a detour to see the old Fartown ground. So how long would be needed to walk from the station/town centre area, have a quick look round (is it generally open or accessible?), then head back towards the SmithsMcAlpPharm. How long would that take?
Any decent ale pubs or RL themed pubs en route? Does the cricket club at Fartown have a bar/social club?
Cheers .

| Daz, which of the two station pubs do you recommend? I'm sure I have frequented both in the past but I can't remember which is which!

| regarding curry places, there is a new one just opened up actually in st.george's square, as you face the square with the station behind you, its in the big building to the right, literally opposite the George hotel.
shabaab is now closed but nawaab is pretty good and chilli lounge is decent too.
there is also, botofogo, a Brazilian place just around the corner from the square, turn right at the bottom.
the 2 pubs at the station are both decent, kings head usually has a few guest ales on and not as busy as head of steam, I would try that, the cherry tree, wetherspoons pub, usually has a good selection of cheap ales from local breweries.
as for fartown, everything is closed down now but you can still wander around ad far as I know, but there is nothing there anymore except a pitch and a huge grass banking which was the old north terrace!, I would leave yourself a good couple of hours, its probably a 20 minute walk to fartown, presuming you don't stop at either the sportsman or slubbers arms on the way!
from the station, go straight down across the square, and straight across down the road to the ring road, turn left and follow the ring road to Tesco, then keep going following the Bradford road signs, past the car dealerships, this is Bradford road, keep on this road past the harp pub until the junction, turn left and follow this road, the fartown complex is on the right, the main entrance is further up just on the bend.
to get to the stadium from fartown, either go back the way you came along Bradford road, when you get to a junction turn left, follow this road under the railway bridge and the stadium will be in front of you, or go straight across at the big junction, to a mini roundabout, turn right, follow this road to the bottom and then follow the track over the canal, past the cricket field and then go straight across leeds road.
enjoy your day!

Personally i prefer the Kings head as they usually have live bands on on sundays plus real ale and lots of local sups from micro breweries whereas the head of steam does food too ....try them both if you have time.

So wont look as deserted on TV as LSV did yesterday! ........
I know the score would've been similar had Sheffield got through, but at least some fans might've turned up to watch it .....
