Interesting reading Smiths comments on the mini pre season training the players had with the week off.

Get the feeling he's quite happy to of had this time to prepare for the run in and play-offs, after all nobody knows what it takes to win a Grand Final more then he does.

A complete non-entity of a game?. Hang on. A trophy (however insignificant it is, in the great scheme of things) is up for grabs, which will then go on to play a part in who has home advantage in the play-off game, when we meet.

Then you go on to say you think we'll get beat by Hull (who have had their 5 games of form, earlier on in the season). If we can't beat mid-table opposition in Hull, then we have no right to be contesting Grand Finals.

Just a couple of quick questions for you, Colin.

Agreed, Goldie. The League Leader's Shield would be great to win. It shows we are the best team over 27 rounds.

As I've stated on another thread, both teams go into the game on an even footing. The best team on the day will win and the losers will have no excuses.

As much as certain Wigan fans will try and claim you don't deserve cos we played you after the cup final, had Saints at Cardiff etc etc, to win the league leaders you'll have beat us home + away in the league.

Wigan's fixtures when they had the 3 games in a week couldn't have been any easier Wakey, Cas, Quins. Anyone half decent they would have been screwed, i saw the Quins game and they looked shattered, Quins had on them on the rails.

for those that do try and claim this, they should realise that you came away from the weekend with a point and we didn't. arguably the difference in the teams up until this point(the one point i mean).

I couldn't remember your result, or who you even played tbh, I was just recalling the same noises from last season when you spanked Salford (i think?) and we had Hudds.

Which is why the Magic Weekend is a load of rubbish. The extra fixture means the final league table is skewed - I would say this whatever the respective results. It is just bizarre that Superleague has an odd number of fixtures in this manner, and I've yet to hear a worthwhile justification for it.
