I thought he had a touch of class about him. Could prove to be an additional pivot from FB; he has the ability.

Last nights performance has convinced me that Mathers is a great signing (i hope i am not proved wrong), from the last 2 games i can't understand why Wigan wanted rid of him. He adds a lot to the attacking line that Riley does not and looks very confident at the back. Riley is a reserve full back when called upon and with his commitment and pace there is definitely a place for him on the wing

And end of day (i would like to see him stay), Riley will learn alot more about playing fullback under Mathers than he did, a 'constantly injured' Reardon.

is it just a coincidence that the two players that went the opposite way to Gleeson,appear to be doing quite well goulding at Salford and Mathers at the Wire.... early days yes.....but its also interesting that both clubs have seen a recent upturn in performances whereas Wigan are still pooh.... |

Calderwood, Moran and even Higham didn't exactly reach their previous heights in the world's most famous Rugby Jersey.
Two of those, like Goulding and Mathers as mentioned before, have resurrected their careers somewhat post-Wigan, IMO debunking the myth that they are the be all and end all of Rugby League. |
