It's not sinking in for you, but I will say this one last time, Lewis Hamiltons dad kept up 3 jobs to PAY for is son to do carting he was a single parent with 2 kids.

I'm not saying Motor Racing isn't a skill....I'm just amused by the fella's idea that Horse Racing consists of just sitting on a horse's back, giving it the odd crack with a whip...

And so what is he is a very wealthy man? If he worked for it and didn't win it on the lottery or stole it, good on him and he should be admired.

If he then wants to send money on his son, again good on him. It could so easily have not worked out nd Lewis might not have had any racing ability.

Who is the more skilled? The horse or the jockey?

I'd have to argue the horse, with all the running and occasionally jumping. Like to see one of those little jockeys get over them fences during the Grand National.

That should be an official sport, just for the comedy value.

My ex girlfriend rode a horse once a week for 2 years and could get a horse over a high fence, her instructor told her she was an excellent horse rider for that.

Driving round a 90 degree corner at 80mph, now that takes severe talent.

Using 'my girlfriend could ride a horse' as an analogy really doesn't work. That's like saying 'my gran can drive a Nissan Micra'.

Jockeys don't actually sit on horses, in any case - I'd suggest that keeping a ton of horseflesh going in the right direction at 40 mph while held on by two stirrups and a set of reins takes some doing.

I wouldn't like to compare the levels of skill involved between a top class jockey and an F1 driver - respect to both, in my view. I'd rather drive the car, but would much prefer to watch horseracing than motorsport.

Anybody know how our Swiss World Champion is doing this year, in his inferior car??...
