Bailey doesn't offer any biff..... none whatsoever.

So we have this turd.
And
Gidley way past his best, and anyone who thinks he got player of the year at his former club out of anything but sentiment is lying to themselves.
Sandow who is lazy, a confirmed trouble maker and practically uncoachable
Dodds obviously here to so the lads can play 4 player hungry hippos with R.Evans, Harrison and Wheelchair.
Westerman was brought here to help the pubs recoup their Thursday night losses.
Cox has no spleen, so the NHS centre also gets some use.

The only signing that excites me is Lineham...cue all the grief I'll get.

Exactly. Where do people get this idea Bailey adds 'biff'. I have never seen any evidence of it, ever.

Including Wicked Uncle Ryan & a few of the other pantomime dames we have brought in ,we seem to have a team of stop gap players to try & produce some goods until the much heralded new Academy system starts to bear fruit with a new home grown crop of superstars.

What a pile of shizzle!!!

Reality rather than rationale you claim. Signing Bailey equates to disbelief in my book.

Clearly your God of Rugby thinks this turd complements his tatties better than biff and aims to waste next season trying to polish it. Another case of looking back not forward and a disastrous experiment waiting to happen.

If we don't make the GF then sorry Smith out.
That seems like I'm being unreasonable but I actually think he's taking us backwards now, he needs to prove a lot of people wrong, if we don't hit top 4 this season I fear further regression.

All the signings and team should be judged after half a a dozen or so games. Tony Smith must have a lot of faith in his signings . To many people moaned we didn't have options now we do people still aren't happy. I know there aren't many marquee signings but it is a fast improvement from last year. I agree wire wire yed. If with don't get to gf then we should look else where. But first we should give him and the team our support and benifit of doubt for the first 6 games or so a026.gif a026.gif

I think what Bailey had at Leeds which helped him last was a core group that came through at the same time that liked/tolerated him. JJB, Sinfield and Peacock have all spoken well of him in the past and view him as "misunderstood" in the public's eye. That he remained winning trophies at Leeds until 2014 is probably a testimont to the leaders we had in our group and them having the time for him.

Going in fresh to a new club and environment he isn't going to have that kind of support and it's not worked out already at two clubs last year for him.

The pack has enough depth to allow us to hit the straps running like Leeds did last year and hopefully maintain the moment until we pick up the 3rd piece of silverware.

I'm going to be having a punt on Sandow mos because if this pack.

It's not long since Bailey opted to sign a further two years at Leeds rather than the NRL ,but then it seemed go wrong when he started missing training and Kirkstall is not very far from where he lived,he had a testimonial and only did the game no further efforts put in waste of that year. However he kept his place with Smith, Blueyand Mac so he must have done summat right and it's been mentioned on the Leeds board remember the GF when 5 Warrington players lost concentration and went after him? That is Bailey when he gets under oppositions skin .Panto Villain

From a Leeds fan's perspective, I've never understood the reputation of Bailey as trouble on the field. IIRC he was sent off a total of once in ten years as a prop forward at Leeds and certainly won a lot more penalties than he gave away. We're not exactly talking about Gareth Hock here, and a lot of the vitriol from opposition fans was about finding something, anything about a successful club to hate, and I daresay a fair amount of it was about race.

On the field, when he broke through as a young man (under Tony Smith) it looked like he'd be an international prop for a decade, but he didn't really kick on that much. What he became instead was an excellent defender and solid runner who was well worth his place in a succession of GF-winning teams. Once or twice a season he'd do something that'd make you go "bloody hell, why doesn't he do *that* more", but the fact that he didn't doesn't make him a bad player.

Off the field there were obviously some problems when he stepped away from the Leeds "family", but that family was created in the first place by Tony Smith so - at 31 - you could still have a decent but not worldbeating forward on your hands.

Can anyone actually say what he has done on the pitch that was actually that bad? He is just a Panto Villain who plays a part.

Are some of you slating Bailey also saying we should be signing Ferres? That is Ferres in the last year dropped another player in a wrestling move that could have broken his neck and spends his spare time screwing his best mates wife?

If he puts in the work I welcome him.

The official line for leaving Rovers was given as personal reasons, which later transpired that he didn't like the daily commute and he had relationship problems.

It will play heavily with his emotions knowing that the similar daily commute to Warrington on a busier and slower section of the M62 means he won't get back until much later. This could give an opportunity for some of the randy Cas boys to get jiggy with his loved one. Will he last past the end of April in a Wire shirt? I doubt it. He needs to join a team full of twa*s like Leigh.
