| What's everyone spouting at fellow fans for. ..many comments were made during play which in a stressful game are likely to be less complimentary. ... Sims offloads were poor he throws the ball downwards he offloaded five times and three of those meant another player had an error against their name not him...that's how stats work
That said as always he was tireless in his hit ups and last ditch defence which I think is second to none. ....
If a fan can't scream FFS at a bad offload during a game its a pretty poor show. ..

Because apparently we are not allowed to do that unless we lose, then there as to be a scape goat.

| In today's Sunday Mirror the Catalans coach is quoted as saying he thought they were the best team for 80 mins. I can only assume something was lost in translation.

| Thankfully I didn't need to listen to the sky anti-wire team, I with many other Warrington supporters was at the game. It was blood drainingly hot out there and the lads had the sun in their eyes for the 1st half. Chris Hill did a magnificent captain's knock supported in leadership by Stefan Ratchford. Sims looked very tired from the KO however Bailey for me did a great job whilst on the pitch, helping the youngsters. Toby King grows in confidence, and Dec Patton took his chance with both hands. He is going to be needed because both Sandow and Gidley may struggle to play again this season. Morgan Smith shows maturity for a young player, and Kev Penny got through a lot work in the first half scoring a great try.
Catalan have a lot of questioning to do for next season, one thing is for sure, the local supporters love their rugby league and being there to be involved in it is great.

| Quote: Kevin Turvey "Sims has done ok stats wise this season - 4th in squad for tackles, 5th for metres and top for offloads. Interestingly prior to today he'd only given away 9 penalties. Hill has given away 25.........liability that bloke........'"
Sims does bring a quick PTB and offloads and rarely eats driven back in defence
Hill's penalties always seem to be on the fifth tackle or in front of our posts, does my head in that, for such a high quality player.

I'm glad you mentioned Penny. Both for his own try, and for the third try where he made the break down the wing, his awareness of what was happening (or might happen) was first-class and belied someone who hadn't had much game time for a while. He could have easily bombed the third try or taken the tackle, but executed really well (as did Ratchford, King and Patton following up).

| I still stand by the fact that Cox is hopeless.
Hill and Sims must want to kick his lazy, unfit backside.

| Hasn't Cox had his spleen removed ? I don't know if that would affect his overall fitness to play RL.

I think he lacks good technique and that means he comes off worst in attack. No late footwork and head high in collision and very little "stickability" in the tackle. He often seems to drive himself off the tackle after impact by pushing away from the tackled player rather than into him,
Both these mean much energy little effect and he gets banjoed often
If hes coachable and cheap - keep
Otherwise he could be a monster at lower level

tbh, i know where mark is coming from, which is why i replied to him.
During our period on tv earlier this year, when we were all falling in love with his runs and crazy ass behaviour, i had noticed that in league express they show the stats for the games, and i was surprised that in his periods on the pitch, maybe 20/15 minutes either side of half time, he was only clocking up 4/5 tackles at a time. Now i know he's not a defensive prop but you would expect someone playing middle of the field unless the opposition had nearly 0 possession should be doing more than that. Also you'd expect him to be a spot defender as well since he's historically not a good defender and he's all gangly n .
It does seem that his odd weird run has masked his lack of tackles, his lack of defensive ability and also the point that very often on these runs he does get knocked silly, of the two i've been more impressed with bailey for overall output and he's probably been better value for money.
I'm still gutted for Bevans, he was coming along nicely in 2014 and was a bright spot in a pants year. He would have been a nice addition. Now been usurped by George King.

| Bailey is certainly the better of the two but that's to be expected considering he's one of the most experienced props in the league. I agree with your concerns re Cox although I definitely think there is a player in there. He has the potential to make a big impact and is reasonably mobile for a big guy but the big issue for me is his fitness. You'll be lucky if you get one good drive out of him per game. It's that big an issue that, as much as I do like him, I don't think he won't make it here although he may be worth a punt for a lower Super League side.
Still, he gave me my favourite moment of this season so far (bar Sandow's drop goal v Salford). His 80m run at Wakefield in the regular season was pure comedy gold, then the look on his face as he was immediately subbed was priceless. He looked as though he was about to die. I did wonder if he hasn't really featured since then because he was still catching his breath.

| As I said earlier, Cox is a wage theif, as well as a jersey opportunity that a youngster could fill.
He runs into the tackle at 100mph, which, whilst looking impressive, his end result is anything but. He'll then spend the next few sets of six, with his hands on his knees, blowing like an asthmatic. No more a SL standard player than I am.
A bigger waste of time than Wheeler. Get rid. He's taking the mickey.

| Compare our props to the 2011 team and you will see why some of us are not convinced. Hill (despite dropping a little in form recently which is not surprising seeing how much he does) makes up to some extent for the short comings. Thank goodness we picked up Bailey too.
King may have some promise but he is not as good as Cooper when he left. I'd have Paul Wood/Carvell over Sims all day long.
