| Interetsing comments from Hendo - particularly in respect of Toby King. Very positive about him as a person. Suggested that perhaps he didn't fit in the way Powell wanted his team to play. Mmmm

| Thanks for the updates Karetaker, does Tai keep his space above Wrench?

| Have to say, that's good to back up last week's victory with another weakened team, including some not match-fit. Really impressed that we didn't take the foot off the gas... more Burgess DNA on the team. The only downside was the goal kicking but I guess the conditions didn't help at all.

I would say so. If you take the 2 games side by side.
There was an instance in the second half when London actually got some ball down our end of the field. And a passage of play that in recent weeks has seen wrench back pedaling over the try line.
Connor may have enough credit in the bank for a few more games but that was a steady debut from wodewick

| Yep funny game not the best conditions and against a poor London side.
That aside,
0 points conceded
Thewlis' best game for a long time backed himself.
Threat all over the park rather than coming mainly from Dufty.
People coming back had a chance to ease themselves in.
Goalkicking awful but conditions awful.
Tai was ok defensively (hard to tell against London) in attack generally good (nice tip pass but stone cold knock on) for me I'd rather have Wrench but I'd not be against giving him a run later in the season.

| Bullock did not get on to the pitch due to being sick before the game.

| A great result, in to the next round which is ybe main thing. I love that Sam Burgess doesn't get carried away, he knows it was good but we need to be better. He's setting a standard required to get over the line. The players seem to be responding to it. It's great for the club.

| Decisions for Burgess on Wrench/Tai and Philbin/Bullock next week. Philbin played almost the full 80 and was very energetic but I still think Bullock brings a bit more go forward from the bench. I would also stick with Wrench although Tai looked solid and strong.

| Hats off to Philbin who I think played the full 80. The first 30mins or so in the second row and then the remaining 50 at prop.
Once again some interesting substitutions as players moved around the pitch.
I am pretty sure that when Nicholson came on he went to second row and then Holroyd went to 13.
I didn't see Ratchford go off but he wasn't on the pitch for the last 10-15 mins and I am pretty sure King went to stand off. This meant Tai on the wing, Nicholson at centre and Crowther at second row.
Dufty came off and Thewlis dropped to fullback
Good to see players being asked to cover multiple positions in case they are forced into changes during games coming up.
I thought Philbin, Crowther and Walker were outstanding.
Interesting that Harrison never came back on after being substituted after about 20 mins and I didn't spot that Bullock never even came on until I spotted the article.
Comment from Burgess about the hot water bottle made me chuckle. It was pretty chilly.

| Holroyd went to left side backrow when Nicholson came on, philbs came into the middle with Musgrove (who was pretty bloody good again) and crowther.
Powell came on as a swap for walker but went to 13 midway through second half.
I didnt see ratch go off but I noted dufty getting subbed after a Try and thewlis appearing down the left side channel putting a kick in.
Harrison came back on last 5 minutes maybe later, he dropped the ball near their line.
Its odd to see players being switched on field after 6 years of rigidity.
Helpful though.
Again early days but it looks and feels like there's a real expectation from the coaching staff for the players to be ready to adapt.
