| Scores 2 tries and his outside winger scores 2 tries, he must have done something right today. Steve Price mentioned the none passes in the first half so I am sure Toby will be asked to work on that but it's his first game with Charnley. Like his brother, he isn't first choice barring injuries/ suspensions etc and yet he is doing a pretty good job for us, just give him a break the King bashing on here is embarrassing and largely unfounded.

| Not sure I would have given Toby man of the match but I would have given it to him ahead of Charnley today

| I’d like to see the replays before laying the blame at Kings door, thought Charnley was more at fault for the first.
He did some good stuff and some average stuff, but is obviously second choice behind Atkins and Goodwin. Not a bad replacement option.

| If I had to be critical....it's more about what Toby didn't do over what he did and did wrong.
He did ok and the team won a largly ugly game that got better.
But that only goes to highlight the huge scope for improvement ahead of all the other teams in the competition.

| Today he was ropey at the start and should ha e made a few passes but he improved and was a close ran contest for mom between him n charnley.
Too many people are too eager to write people off as rubbish useless and not up to standard. We cannot have a team of stars and must create our own. Had t King been fit and playing the last two years he would have developed more. He has the physique for a centre has broken the line when selected and today when he broke he looked for charnley, the pass was not on, his little kick through are an extra option needs bit more work on em
I think he has potential and needs to take his chances when covering for atkins and goodwin. He has at least looked to create for his winger which is new for us I would be happy to see king and charnley on the wing next game tho I think atkins will get the call.
This is normally the point in a players career I feel we do not excellent in hopefully price can improve that and we San start to see our younger players really kicking on t King included.

| Well said, Dezzie. There aren't that many stars in the competition so all clubs have to make the best of what players they have & the mark of a good manager is getting the best out of his players.

Having watches super league show replays I don't think King is at fault for the first and second the pair of em are to blame

| We do have to consider that some tries are scored and it is so difficult to blame a particular defender. It is not always an individual's fault.

| I thought Toby King was quite poor yesterday but somehow finished off with two tries.
worryingly I'm inclined to agree with RD that it was all about what he didn't do rather than what he did do.
considering there are plenty on here that have a pop at Atkins for his lack of passing ability we shouldn't allow King some grace because he's a younger player.
his passing for a is woeful. and that's it.
he also attempted a chip over the top on the first tackle ....I mean come on what kind of brain fart is that. luckily it ended well but it was never on.
in the second half he simply passed to Charnley at the earliest opportunity and didnt really draw any defenders to him so still quite poor but he was saved by Charnley's brilliance.
Ive seen soundbites from Steve price question his non passing in the first half Ive seen it also questioned on the superleague show.
I would say its a problem and fans are quite within their right to question Toby King we shouldnt be made to feel "negative" or "not proper Fans"
that said he's a big unit with some pace and that's the same attributes as Atkins.... at the minute hes a younger slighty less powerful version of Atkins..... should he keep Atkins out of the team ...No

I'd say yes to leaving Atkins out.
Not because he isn't good enough but simply because pressure to keep a starting spot is healthy and something that has been a miss at Warrington since the 70's.
For decades the team has either picked itself or when we had the numbers during the TS era...he picked his favourites above the form of the replacement...it's no wonder we have hardly produced young progressive stock like Wigan do.
So big NO from me for Atkins...wait your chance and grab it....Toby better keep it up.
Yeah baby.. lovin it!

My golden rule re. selection and returning players has always been ... unless you are certain that the team will be stronger by making changes ... then you should stick with what you've got.

| TKing scored two and got two assists. I still think he was, well, didn’t look like a decent centre. He didn’t pass to Charnley twice when he should have done and even though he got two assists he did kind of leave Charnley with a lot to do (never drew the defenders to create space for Charnley, just gave it him as early as possible).
But it could end up being a good partnership. TKing has missed a hell of a lot of rugby. Development years at first team level he’ll never get back. But now, there’s no reason why he should play (if fit) with Charnley for years ahead. But he needs to learn quickly to do the right things!
For years we’ve seen Atkins being unable to pass well to his winger and he’s had continuous unstoppable years at centre.

Just watched it! Think they got the numbers wrong on the blind side for try one general team issue, try two King had the centre wrapped up, there was no reason for Charnley to come inside, I wouldn’t blame King for either.
He needs to give Charnley better ball, he obviously got it rammed down his neck at half time. I honestly think King could be great, a better centre for Charnley than Atkins could ever be. We’ll see, how Atkins responds, glad that there’s a challenge going on, they can both step up to the plate.

| Wish he would draw defenders in a bit more before he passes to Charnley tho.
