| Thanks fellas. It was a long way from where I stood.
May have confused it. It seemed to happen on the right edge.

| Also saw Brown staying on the try line when Williams was moving laterally across the line about 15 metres from our in goal looking for options. Cut off the diagonal kick option with a bit of common sense and winger nouse as the rest of our defence was able to move up without worrying about a kick behind them.

| Rhys Williams is an honest professional with a limited game. We've had too much of that recently like Williams and Rhys Evans, currently Matty Russell is the obvious one.
They have all tried their hardest for us, they just haven't been very effective.

Only fumble of any significance was the Atkins fumble with the try line begging at the end of the first half. Mitch Brown had a hand in both our tries, making significant ground into the Wigan 20 prior to the ball being switched left for Tommy's try and his leap and pat back for the Atkins try.

Darlings of Super League: |
|
| I watch Rhys a lot at London and he is a standout player in the Championship. Bigger, stronger and quicker than most of his opponents, and he scored a great try yesterday where he hared down the touchline, weaved in and out and left the covering defender on his booty.
Would he make it in Super League? Not sure. Like many British wingers, he has his frailties and Rhys' are the low grubber in behind him and his decision making under pressure. He is a player I enjoy watching at London because he scores proper wingers' tries and gives his all in every game.

| No disrespect to Rhys, but compare him to Chris Riley:
Riley was a slightly above average winger, small on size, who had the benefit of playing in an amazing trophy winning team and because of that he looked the part and had an excellent try-scoring record (he was an outstanding finisher).
Rhys Williams was coming through at the tail end of that great era and yet couldn’t hold down a first team place, nor stand out as a great finisher. I can’t see how he would suddenly solve our wing problems. Arguably Matty Russell would look outstanding from broken play in the championship, topping the scoring charts.
How’s Ryan Brierly doing since he stepped up to Super League?

He scored 21 tries in 29 games so his finishing record was not bad. Also didn't he play outside Atkins who according to people on here never puts his winger in. So you can probably double that try scoring record if he was playing outside another centre, that would be like Offiah rate of scoring.
Could it be that he is another of our academy wingers who might have been the next Offiah, if only he'd been given a regular run in the side nad not dropped and had his confidence ruined...?

| Isn't he also the all-time leading try scorer for Wales international RL side?

| I don’t think TS trusted any homegrown winger.

| He was never good enough for a decent Super League side. Because of his height, or lack of it, opposition targeted him with bombs and scored with ease. He was never a Jason Robinson who’s skills made up for the lack of height. More a Shaun Ainscough.

You just reminded me of Shaun Ainscough and his match-winning assist (for the wrong team):

Chris Riley was first choice for five seasons, Rhys Williams and Gene Ormsby got a couple of seasons between them as starters and he brought back Kevin Penny who also had a couple of seasons.
Which home grown winger do you think should have had more games and which one do you think should have been in ahead Chris Hicks or Joel Monaghan?

Chris Riley was sent to London, and I still (and probably always will) think Penny was badly mishandled. Ormsby was always a makeweight. I’m not saying any would have been ahead of Hicks or Monaghan. But may have been ahead of Russell. Strange how Evans and Russell were allowed to be average without being dropped but those wingers weren’t.
