In it's current format (choosing tickets by price only, not location) I won't be doing the 'what if' again either. I would have happily have paid a lot more to be certain of a lower tier ticket but that was not an option. Was a little concerned before handing in the form but I knew the next time I would be able to get to the ground after the semi-final would be the Bradford game so I really had no option. (I could of course have booked direct with the RFL but I prefered to go through the club through a sense of 'loyalty'!)

| the annoying thing is that "the club" should put something in place where you can choose lower or upper tier as these are meant to be priority order????
Next time RFL directly for me

| Question for you two,
What options did you put down for price bandings as preferred choices?

| i put £26 down with £31 as 2nd and £41 as third, which is what i did in 2010!
I guess it is the luck of the draw BUT if there was a section on the form to state lower or upper tier as well then it would clear up the issue of the allocation.

In my case £26, £31, £41, £51 (in that order). That was based on a quick look at the RFL Cup Final ticket page which appeared to show more £26 tickets in the lower tier than the upper whereas the more expensive tickets appeared to be evenly spread over both tiers. I mistakenly thought that I would have had a better chance of a lower tier ticket by choosing £26 as my first choice. Had the options been lower or upper tier rather than price I would have selected lower tier and had no issues whatsoever if I had been allocated £31, £41 or £51 tickets.
I'm sure that on the day I will be made up to be their watching the Wire at Wembley wherever I am sat, but for now I am quite angry both at the club and myself. Putting it all down to experience and, if we are lucky enough to go back again, I will put my misplaced/mistaken loyalty to the club to one side and buy direct from the RFL.

| Most of the tickets in the lower are £31 or £41.
If you stated £26 as your first choice you were always more likely to be in the upper.
Either way, RFL website is the best option.

| I'm not trying to be a smart alec after the event, but i wouldn't have gone for the cheaper tickets, in fact i haven't either time, i went 41/31/61. mainly due to one of our party being scared of heights.
From what i can recall the previous two occasions the cheaper tickets went like stink and when i say cheaper i mean the bothlower and upper tier, i fluked into getting the 41 quiders from the RFL as i'd just started a new job the morning tickets went on sale in 09 and couldn't queue up, and pre ordered the same in '10 from the club.
It's a good view from the back of the tier but at the same time, you dont feel much more part of the event as you're still a ways back from the pitch/front of the seats.
Dont let it ruin your day though.

hmm, arguable.
i went to the RFL in 2010 to try and get the same seats as 09 and they couldn't do it, as that was then all blocked out for the pre orders by the club.

| The irritating part is that buying tickets for almost any event (sport, theatre, cinema, etc) the first question you are asked isn't 'How much do you want to pay?', but 'Where would you like to sit?'
I did have a quick look on eBay to see if I could pick up better tickets there and then sell my tickets, but they all seem to be in the Leeds end and being sold by people in wigan, Preston, Bolton, Poulton-Le-Flyde, etc who can't make it because they all seem to have family weddings to attend.
Anyways, all done now. At least I shouldn't (I hope) have issues this year with some guy in front of me wanting to stand for the whole game because 'That's what I do in the South Stand every week!'

Agreed the club need to sort this out for next time we get to Wembley and realise that it is the location of the seat and not price that matter to some people - God knows what will happen IF we get to old trafford and the quick turn around needed on ticket allocation

You do realise you don't HAVE to pre-order via the club don't you? I got on a bus outside the ground after the semi, got the RFL website up on my phone and knew exactly where I would be inside Wembley before I even reached the Trafford Centre.
Without wanting to sound flippant, I've got better seats than you for the same price too, because I'm in the upper as well (by choice) and I'm 14 rows further forward than you which does make a difference because it's high up.
More importantly from your point of view though, I could easily have bought lower tier tickets in our end if I had wanted to for either £31 or £41 a go because the option was there.
As I say, you pays yer money you takes yer choice, but rather than saying what the club need to do "next time" (and here's hoping there is one soon but let's not take that for granted), maybe you should consider doing things differently yourself "next time".
There are alternative options.

| It did say on the website and the form that it was first come first served on the "what if" system. I put mine in on the day it was available the same as last time for £31 and have got block 111 again. The problem is if you are going for the cheaper tickets and with there being less £26 tickets in the lower tier than upper tier, then it all comes down to when did you put in your forms? If you put them in in last week of the scheme being available then it waqs most likely you would have been allocated upper tier. Really for an extra £15 you could have guarenteed lower tier as the £31 "what if" tickets were all lower tier im led to believe.
