| Anyone who thinks that we would have won with a different ref needs their head testing. I didn't see Silverwood spunking a passed ball into touch first tackle, or kicking the ball on first tackle when we hadn't had hold of it for 20 minutes, or lying on, or being un-square at the PTB or lazy head high tackles.

What about him awarding a 20 meter tap when Myler never grounded the ball?'"
He was good tonight. Made the right calls in terms of the balance of play and the holding down etc.
He got three decisions wrong in the whole game IMO. One was where Myler didn't ground the ball and he didn't refer it to the video ref, which would have resulted in a Saints try. Then I think he may have evened this up by not referring the dropped ball for Flannery's try to the video either, as technically it may have been a tackle in the air, despite the fact Riley was never going to catch it. The third one was when he gave Warrington the scrum following the short kick off that was palmed 20 metres forward by a Warrington player before Saints knocked on.

| Can't see why anyone can blame the ref. He gave a couple of dodgy decisions for both sides.
We just didn't play smart rugby for the conditions. Also gave away some stupid penalties in the first half that let Saints build up momentum with plenty of possession.
Will be a serious test now of how we bounce back and learn from our mistakes.

I'm not convinced that was wrong. It was touched by Warrington and Saints didn't touch it until Wilkin (?) tried to ground it with his knee on the line and the ball over it.

| Why blame the ref for this lost ? He gave some bad decisions but he is not to blame for the loss tonight as much as i dont like him. We weren't good enough tonight simple as. Error after error, Passing the ball into touch. Play light that next week and its goodbye Warrington for another year. Just not good enough.

You can't penalise the King in his castle can you?

| Keith Senior was really on to something when he called Silverwood arrogant...Can't believe he didn't refer the Flannery try to the video ref....
Despite Saddened's bias..Riley was tackled in mid air simple as that...
But our performance was very poor tonight deserved what we got....

| I agree that blaming the ref is pointless - a few big decisions could have gone either way, for both teams.
I do think a few 'easy' penalties were given at 'game changing' points in the game - going Saints way and giving them constant possession. But they say you make your own luck and Saints don't need a second chance when it comes to finding the line. Saints deserved the win on the back of playing a better suited game to the weather.
One thing I do dislike about Saints tho is their constant bitching to the ref. Graham totally throws his dummy out from the word go, and with Cunningham and that new young winger mithering and whining to Silverwood, they often got the decision they wanted. Don't get me wrong Briers and Monas like to have a word, but tonight I thought Saints were ridiculous. Silverwood should have had the balls to penalise them a couple of times.

Graham and Cunningham aren't too bad, they at least discuss the incidents or attempt to make their point. For example when Graham was penalised for being elbowed by Clarke.
It's Wellens you need to worry about, he stamps his feet down together like he's going to do the haka and waves his arms like a bird trying to take off whilst screaming at the ref to "F&^% off".

| it was a very poor performance we looked like the team playing without our recognised half backs! but the referee definitely didnt help tonight. i was mostly dissapointed by our lack of enthusiasm when walking back to scrums etc when there was still 17 minutes left on the clock and 3 tries in it. there was nothing from warrington after the first 6 minutes that showed me they really wanted the win tonight.

| I thought the stadard of reffing was very poor tonight, for Wire and Saints. He missed *a lot* and got a lot wrong too. On saying that, regardless of the standard of ref we still we have lost tonight. I echo some of the previous comments: I really hope we are luring teams into a false sense of security....
