| Quote: morleys_deckchair "I didn't see one on display tonight. For all his effort graham is certainly no Morley. I expected tomkins to shine tonight but he didn't turn up really. Maybe it's his age. No decent forward on display tonight in my eyes. None that you could say was world class anyway.'"
Morley is an outstanding player, there is no doubt about that. But to belittle Graham's consistency and ability is ridiculous. We've been a prop light all season and are still in the Grand Final.
As for your comment about there being no decent forwards, thats laughable. If those on display aren't 'decent' where would you rank Warrington's, who came 10th? You've not had a forward of the ability or achievement of Keiron Cunningham in your clubs history. Add in international forwards Graham, Roby, Puletua, Fa'asavalu, Wilkin, Feka and O'Loughlin, there is no real need to add Fielden, as I agree he's terrible.
Tomkins is another puzzling target for your criticism. He was clearly Wigan's main threat and has had atruly superb season. Warrington haven't produced any young players of his ability recently have they.

Confirmed by Eastmonds dad and best mate that he has no intention of going to rugby union and wants to see out his career at superleagues most successful club. He is due to enter negotiations after the grand final and cant wait to sign on the dotted line.

| Quote: Asgardian13 "See, this is where threads go wrong. You start with a perfectly reasonable rebuttal of a blikered comment but then spoil it all by being blinkered yourself. So Wire have 'not had a forward of the ability of KC in our club's history'? Let's just name a few half-backs [/iof top quality recently, we have produced very talented young players like Mike Cooper, Chris Riley, Matty Blyth, Tyrone McCarthy and the 'controversial' Kevin Penny.
Tomkins comes under flak because, despite his skill, he's a newty little blagger who persistently uses his knees in the tackle, and easily loses his rag - which he even showed against your lot last night.'"
The guy also referred to Cunningham's acheivements and I don't think any of the above would come close to Cunningham's medal collection.
I have just re-read your list and see Mike Nicholas' name - are you seriously suggesting Nicholas as a player was in the same class bracket as Cunningham - if so then you are seriously deluded?
I would imagine in 20 or 30 yerars time then Cunningham will be rightly (if he isn't already) recognised as the stand-out player from the early Super League era.

| As for "big game" players then Sean Long proved last night he still has it in him for the big game if not every week. How Wilkin won the man of the match (and in so doing gave him another platform to talk down the game by harping on about Graham not being in the Dream Team) in front of Long will go down as one of life's great mysterys.

Blood is a romantic image on a rugby league field isn't it. A blood soaked shirt, a heroic war-like bandage and a battle are enough to get the voters going. Long's influence was without question.
Without him IMO it could have gone the same way as the Challenge Cup semi final.

He said 'ability [ior[/i achievements', [i 'or'[/i being the axiomatic word. You can only achieve trophies if the rest of the team is good enough. Mike Gregory suffered from being in an average team. Mike Nicholas, in his short career, was one of the finest ever RL forwards, and I'd take him above Cunningham anyday. [i You [/iare deluded if you think otherwise - or, more probably, you never saw Nicko in his pomp.

I do hope this is true.
Hell, I'd rather he went to Aus than to union!
