After Lee kicked to the corner for Kings hat-trick try early in the second half, whilst the rest of the team swamped King, Lee just turned his back and started walking towards the halfway line with his hands on his head. It was as if that was the point when it dawned on him that he was going to Wembley.

I think one of the game plans, as well as running at the fat man, was to 'sledge' Tomkins.

I'm not so sure, he seems to be the instigator most of the time. I'm yet to see a Wigan game where Tomkins isn' involved in a 'spat' with someone, an opponent, an official, somebody. He's just a fierce competitor, that has probably in truth a tad too much too say for himself, but he'll learn.

Was suggested that may be the case in the tv coverage.

It was before that, It was as the players were trying to get Gansons atention, One of the wire players shouted to him 'he's sparked out!' and Ganson replied 'You'll be sparked out in a minute if you carry on!'. Just thought it was a bit on the unprofesional side for a socalled top rate match official who was miked up for tv.
