| It's been moved to the late May BH weekend - don't they play the football league play-off finals at Wembley around then ?

| But.....
they moved it from May originally because the comp was devalued by being so early in the year and the early rounds being some of the first matches of the season played...... (And rounds being played only a couple of weeks apart).
Don't understand this at all - regardless of where it is played.
For me, an end July final is preferable.

They've said it's a one off and will be going back to Wembley. I presume there's a quirk around the scheduling they can't get around, or that they had a binding contract with Tottenham over the World Cup game and they needed to either pay them or give them another game in compensation.

| Really don't understand the "quirk" - sure, they might be legally obliged to play a game at Tottenham in 2022, but any future CC Final, if its going to be over the late May Bank Holiday Saturday will still clash with the EFL Play-Offs, and I can't imagine football taking a back seat to RL - unless the May BH Saturday date for the CC Final is flexible.

| Great idea. Gives the CC a bit of a lift. Should imagine lots wanting to sample that stadium and a full house of 62000 would be brilliant. Hope we get there.

| The challenge cup has lost its value.
They screwed it up when they allowed the top 8 round 6 entry.
You win 3 games to get to Wembley.
Get everyone in the comp in at round 1. No ifs or buts. Every team. Regardless of status comes in at round 1. That will throw some prestige back into the comp and truly have some giant killings and minnows having a big day out. Imagine the army vs saints wigan st Pat's vs wigan warriors. Wire vs woolston.

On one hand the romance of the Cup and a giant killing, but in reality more likely to be a three digit scoreline for the pro team, which does no-one any favours.
Don't you remember the 112-0 Wires ran in against Swinton?

Yeah, it'd be dreadful with embarrassing scorelines.

| Crosfields once gave Workington a good game at Wilderspool. Maybe there's a case for SL clubs joining at the "32" stage, but as some have already pointed out, we need to avoid three figure scores. Not sure if that's going to be possible.

| I think that were over thinking it a little, part of the fa cups appeal is you could get a premier League club Vs Lower league opposition only last year Crawley knocked Leeds out they are in div 2 !! Wrexham v aresenal with Wrexham at the bottom of the 4th tier!! These are the games that keep the dream alive and provide a much needed cash boost to the lower league clubs. The idea of not wanting a st pat's v Wigan or woolston v Warrington because of the score line us just part of the problem with a lot of fans that absolutely everything has to be the very best, sport and life don't work like that it's about beating what's infront of you, do you think the lads playing for woolston will forget their game against Warrington or Salford ? They got to play against a super League side denying them that because they probably won't win us just not right and goes against what the cc stands for imo.
