| Saints managed to get Walsh and Masoe. As much as I don't like saying it, Walsh is class and Masoe is a monster of a forward. I don't follow the nrl enough to know why these players were released from the nrl but they've had a massive impact in their first season.i thought our forwards were excellent v wigan in the first half even without Benny W, but I think we could improve even more with Simms. For me he's our Morley fire replacement that we've missed this year and he'll give us that 'anti Micky Mac' type repellant to give the forwards more confidence. With Morley and Carvell upfront, I always felt our pack and players were protected. Like when we had Les Boyd and later Les Davidson, Tamiti and Roach in the front row with Dessie on the wing. Especially playing big packs like Widnes with Sorenson, Jow Grima, Emosi Koloto and Moriarty in their ranks. Benny W is our hardman at the mo but he can't do it on his own and as tough as our forwards are, he needs a Morley or a Simms alongside willing to mix it and give him serious backup and that'll give the rest of the pack confidence to dominate like we have in the past few years.

Masoe went well tonight. LOL.
Five second wonder.

| Masoe has been a worse signing than Asotasi.

| Masoe has made some cock ups but he makes some yards and comes up with an occasional big hit. For me there's not much to compare with Asotasi and Masoe. Masoe at least pulls his knees up running at speed and makes an effort to make a collision. That said, the Wire forwards did a job on him and Walmsley.

I bet you'd swap him for Big Roy though Yed.

| This surely dispels the belief that antipodean forwards are somehow better than their British counterparts. Why the obsession in recruiting forwards from down-under when at international level we are able to match, and frequently dominate them in this area?

| I agree that they are not all top class but the pool is bigger and you should stand a better chance of signing a decent one.

| We need a tough and mobile skilful second rower and a half back. Danny Brough is rumoured for half back as is Cooper Cronk. I would like to see a young version of Gareth Ellis. They only seem available in NRL though. More work for Smith and Moran over the Winter to bolster our squad.

| I particulary think that filling the spots with forwards is a waste, especially a backrower. There isn't a shortage of them in our game, I'd much rather see them filled with a quality HB and a beast of a 3/4.

| I'm a little bit disappointed we didn't go in for lopini paea since he left Catalan, he's the type of prop I think we need, I was quite surprised he's gone to wakey
