| Quote: Winslade's Offload "If anyone is interested in avoiding a Saturday shopping trip with their better half, the first U19 game of the season takes place at Wilderspool at 2.00pm v Hull. Should be quite a hard game, but providing they gell, the lads should have the quality to win this one. I just hope the pitch is not too heavy so we see some running from the likes of King, Livett, Patton and the two Johnson's on the wing. In the pack Walker and Philbin should have benefited from their training stint with the first team, and George King, brother of Toby looks a good prospect as well.
Not that I know what team has been picked though.'"
one is Johnson (Jack) and one is Johnston (David)
Should be a good game Charlie; we have been back in training since the middle of November and the lads are really looking forward to it

| Incidentally the U16s lost to Leeds 34-24 last Saturday over at Stanningley, looked like Leeds would run away with it at one point but the team stuck in there and closed the gap as the game progressed. However, Warrington elected to rest their four England players as they had been away all week on a training camp whilst Leeds played all their five representative players so the end result may have been different. All told a good performance anyway as Leeds are always very strong at this age group, it will be an interesting match next time out against Wigan at Wilderspool.

Yes, I saw that result but was waiting for the match report to see the team. That is a good performance if the England players were out - I think Reece Brunt played though ?
I was looking through the stats on the current U16 squad and it looks as though from the 37 players in 2013 we have released 18, retained 12 for this year and promoted 7 to the U19's. That is quite a rate of attrition, but also pretty normal for a squad at that age.

Reece Brunt is not an England player it is George Moore, Charlie Phythian, Dan Norman and Jack Fox (all from Latchford). They had them away training with the Parachute Regiment in Colchester and they came back in various states of disrepair, mind one of the Leeds playing contingent said he was injured whilst in the England camp and then played on Saturday...
I would expect the U16s to be very competitive this season if they can get everyone on the pitch at the same time.

Ah, thanks for that. I thought Kenny had signed a 1 year contract but he didn't appear in the squad, and also missed Master Whalley as well.

| Sounds as though we should have a good turnout as I think there are another couple on here that should be going as well.

| Full time score Warrington 34 - Hull FC 30 (half time was 30 - 10)
I think our defence was better than the score suggests, and we needed to do far more of it in the second half.
Tries Jack Johnson, Harvey Livett, Toby King (2), Joe Philbin (2)
Goals Harvey Livett (5)
