| Awful news but not fully unexpected.
You can't run an SL club on 3-4000 speccies a match.
I really fear for RL going forward. Despite very good and long term work in the south in the schools we still can't get enough support.
Cannot accept this 'let's retreat to the M62' mentality of many (in the past discussions on this subject).

| Who said RL doesn't make the news. This is one of the top links on the front page of the BBC sport website. Now there's a surprise........

| RL in London isn't the be all and end all of our sport. I'd rather strengthen in the areas that it's already got a community before we keep throwing money at useless ventures. It's all wrong. Get the groundwork secure before we put a SL team in place, not the other way round.

In fact, no-one, apart from London's owners, has ever 'thrown money' at the Broncos. There has been plenty of 'groundwork' there since the club started in 1981. This is very sad news. we should be praying for their survival, not continuing to perpetuate the absolute myth that the RFL or other Super League clubs have ever been required to finance them.

| I dont think London deserve a place in SL they've had more than enough tim to establish a fan base down south and failed miserably SL have tried and failed in Wales and now have failed down South if your trying to expand you need to grow from the bottom up I think they've tried it the wrong way around. If your team coach has more people on it than the total amount of travelling fans you shouldn't be in SL you should be in the last tier of the league not the premier competition let them go to the bottom and build a base and come back when they've earnt the right to be here

But the groundwork has been in completely different areas, it's like building a club in warrington then moving it to chester, and expecting everyone to just follow it. The lack of stability has been shocking for London, and is a massive reason that the support has dwindled

| A lack of a proper home/identity has always hurt them, a clear goal as been another, David Hughes has just thrown money at it thinking that's all he needed to do. If someone can step in who is driven and sets out a plan with the right people it will work. David Hughes for all his generosity was the wrong man for the job.

| Barnet FC's chairman, Tony Kleanthous, recently confirmed he was in talks with the Broncos over a move to The Hive, and is thought to be interested in acquiring a stake in the Super League club but only if it became debt-free.
I thought it was much more difficult to walk away from your debts and start again, these days. But it looks as though this could well be the plan for Broncos as Yed and another poster suggested. If that is the case, I wonder whether Broncos will be in SL or Champ 1 next season ?.

London still managed to bring through a lot of junior players. Moveing around certainly didn't help, and it could be argued that their biggest piece of bad luck was when the original management ( Fulham Football Club ) pulled out. Roy Close bought the club from administrators but it was ruled that all the players were free agents so he had to start again with nowt but the proverbial set of shirts. It's been struggle ever since, through there were some purple patches.
