| Hull FC enquired about Myler a few months ago, only for Richie to turn down a move further north to fight and establish a first team place at Warrington.

| If we managed to recoup most of the money that we spent on Myler then it could be the best outcome for both parties, so far it just hasn`t worked out. I`d have expected to see some big improvement from him by now, he needs to learn how to boss senior players a bit more and to take control of the middle by moving us around the pitch. He basically plays in the shadow of Lee Briers and doesn`t look mentally strong enough to take on the mantle of bossing the plays, he just seems to be reserved with ball in hand as if he`s feared of taking control whilst Lee Briers is on the pitch, he needs to take on the opposition line more.
He`s got talent but it looks to me like his talent lies in his support play, i don`t ever see him as an Andy Gregory, Sean Long or Stacey Jones type player that will control games from the middle in the mould of a little general.

That isn't bad is it.
i'll throw a few options about, cause i think we need to give him another season to mature. I may be wrong
1) he is always a support player and we get in a replacement like-4-like for Briers. Maybe erm from St George haha
or
2) He matures next season into a what we need and then we have made a sound investment in him.
As you say he has the talent and is a superb try poacher. Fast as anything and has a rugby brain. I have said all along he needs a confidence boost.
I don't know whether giving him a leadership with Briers off the pitch would answer a few questions. Maybe against quins or someone at HJ. If it doesn't work then we know where we stand.
I like the guy and he has a big heart and obviously loves Warrington. He has decided to fight for a spot. But i realize there is no sentiment in this biz.
I just hope he does a J. Clarke and plays out of skin when given the chance in the hopes of rectifying missing the CC final.
But do you think it is okay just having a support player for a strong leading half?
Or do we need (not want) more of him?

| I would be disappointed to lose Myler however given that we paid a fee for him and worked hard to get him, I would imagine that we would only release him if the club had someone lined up. I know he's more a support player but look how successful McGuire has been for Leeds.

Monitoring outside for the people inside: |
|
| Can't believe that people are slagging him off. He's a young lad, surrounded by more experienced players. He is bound to be subdued. As he gets older and some of the olders ones leave, such as Briers, I'm sure he will step up.
He's a cracking player and like all others, has strengths and weaknesses.
Only fear for me is that he is a Widnesian and we have found with others, they might wear our shirt but the black and white one isn't far underneath. When they finally do get back in SL, I expect them to be muttering in his ear, especially if he still isn't holding a regular spot.

I also would be disappointed to lose him. Having only had one season here and at the very young age of 20, to then sell him would be suprising and disappointing IMO. It can take a season or two to adjust to a new club, as well all know, and despite being axed from the Cup final squad last year and "not playing his best" his stats are good. He knows he's got alot of rugby behind him and to sell him now would be foolish, I think. We will see him flourish in 2011, after a good pre-season coaching with Johns and the previous season to adjust, he'll shine in 2011.
Pure, young, exciting English talent.

50086_1357229109.jpg [b:33tg3xj5]Me:[/b:33tg3xj5] I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.
[b:33tg3xj5]knockersbumpMKII:[/b:33tg3xj5] Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_50086.jpg |

| One season. A season in which he played his part and in which we had our highest league finish for years and won our second trophy in 30 odd years.
I'm not quite ready to give up on him just yet.

| About as much chance of Myler going to Hull as there was of Sinfield coming to Warrington.
Mind you that didn't stop a fair few idiots believeing Sinfield was signing and that fairies live at the bottom of your garden.

| Its the usual thing with a young player. Everybody wants them till they see them play then they soon want to say they're overrated.
When there's talk about who should replace Briers usually you get people saying "I'd like to see us bring through someone from the academy, rather than sign an NRL players, there's lads just as good as that in our academy but they don't get given a chance so they just sign for Saints or Wigan instead" (they haven't seen any Academy games they just say it because its the popular thing).
Then this young lad will come off the bench for 15 minutes to get his debut and everyone will say "looks like a great prospect"
Then after he's got 15 starts under his belt the chat will turn to "not a RL player for me, not got the brain for it - get rid to Widnes or Leigh"
Myler is miles better for a comparable age than any other young player I've seen at Warrington since Briers, Harris and Scully. Remember a 19/20 year old Briers was flaky, got targeted in defence, kicked out on the full, erratic decision making sometimes. What we don't want is for Myler to go to Hull and then in 4 years time us be talking about him as one that got away.

Mylers coming off the cap so that you can fit Sinfield on it. Obviously!

| On the basis of the article in LE, Hull would want him on a loan deal until the end of this coming season. Seeing as we have five pivotal players in Briers, Monaghan, Clarke, Higham and Myler I don't see why we can't loan off Myler for the year and play Monaghan at 7 with Clarke and Higham rotating hookers.
