Another person who doesn't understand the salary cap and thinks they know how much Wire players are being paid.
There must be a million of them!

| Other clubs care and seem to know more about our wage bill then there own.
I think its great we sign who we want, when we want an there is nothing anyone can do.

| You'll probably find that some players arent on as much as we might think they are as a basic salary.
Would be interesting to find out what's included in the salary cap and how clubs use creative ways of enhancing players income, e.g. image rights etc
Anyone know where you can read the rules on salary cap?

| I had my thoughts about Wires salary cap at the weekend when i heard they'd signed these players and at first thought how could they be fitting them in but then when you look at the players leaving it does make sense.
When you signed Rauhihi he was very highly rated in the NRL and was a Kiwi international and when Johnson was signed he was playing very well for Bradford and for GB. I'd guess both of these would be on small fortunes at Wire tbh and i can see their wages covering the salaries of Myler and Atkins at least and then theres the departures of Reardon and Gleeson during this season and possibly a couple of lesser players at the end of this year.
I'll be honest i was more dubious last year when Higham and Carvell was brought in when it seemed players hadn't left of the level that could fund those deals.

| Apparently going over the cap now it is live is impossible so that is out of the question.
I think Warrington may just have some good deals in there but people think players are being paid more than they actually are and as NickyKiss said players have also left so it could balence out.
The only other possibility is that Warrington could be paying players extra on the side like we did with Renouf when his wife got paid £300,000 to work in the kitchens if they are doing this then they will be found out and points will be taken away from them.
IMO they are innocent untill proven guilty!
Great signings for Warrington.

I believe that the 'outs' salaries are still quite a bit higher than the ins (Gleeson >>£ Atkins, Johnson =£ Solomona, Reardon =£ Mathers, Rauhihi >>£ Myler), and I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't another high(ish) profile signing yet to be announced.

| Just been reading the rules and regs of the salary cap and if you are creative you can back a bus through them
For example, and this is my take and interpretation.
One reg states that if players play in a game that the RFL deem to be in the interests of the sport, eg. pre season friendly against Barrow then thos e payments are exempt from salary cap value.
Even a man of the match award could technically be not included.
And there are others
So that's when players get their big pay days
