| There were a lot of parallels between their season and ours:
Expensively assembled squad performing badly
Marquee signings going AWOL
Questionable recruitment
Senior players apparently downing tools
Frequent capitulation
Rumour is that Tony Smith is to take over, which will give him the best squad and deepest pockets since his Wire heyday.

| Would be interesting to see how the Hull FC fans take to TS. Could be like Rafa going to Everton.

Pretty positive I think, obviously not everyone, but overall fans seem happy, we have appointed a string of inexperienced assistant coaches (Agar, Gentle, Radford and Hodgson) with little success, this will be first experienced coach we have had since John Kear.
You can't argue with ability to improve teams and his win record and trophies are as good as any coach in SL (long term) particularly if he has the budget which he should at Hull and also a strong youth development system (at last).

| What Dave said. No disrespect but he turned Wire from basketcase to one of the top teams in the comp.
We're a way off challenging, but I'm more confident of a top 6 finish with Smith in charge.
Feel for Brett after being one of his biggest defenders, he comes across as a genuine good guy. His lack of ability to turn things around for a second season in a row was his undoing. AP backed him this year too, paying off players and bringing new ones in.
We've been crying out for a proven head coach for a while now. Short term hopefully Smith can turn us from a turd team into an average one

where do you think your problems actuall are? this season its been fairly obvious with us from the undersized pack at the start of the year, to the soft underbelly/not being able to stem the tide when momentum goes against us, and to the chopping and changing and underpeforming recruits powell has brought in.
i can't quite put my finger on whats wrong at hull, both this year and in radfords last couple of seasons. you've took some proper kickings that we've been fortunate to just stay away from.
i can't get my head around it. (though griffin is nowhere good as people make out)

I would class these as kickings.
Wire 4 - 40 Leeds
Calalans 40 - 8 Wire
Wigan 32 - 6 Wire

| I think Hull have had some scores of 50+ against them. Ours are bad, theirs are dismal.

Too much player power for me. The 'senior playing group' is still here from the 2018 slump. Taylor, Houghton, Shaul, Griffin. They've all set standards, and pretty poor ones at that.
It's become acceptable that when the going gets tough we just roll over. Or not to bother to turn up for certain games.
When we had a bit of success with the cup wins we had Ellis, Minichiello, Sika Manu, Pritchard and even Pryce setting the tone.
It feels like the lunatics are running the asylum at the minute. Something Smith would sort out fairly quickly.

| Hull deserve to be much better than they are with their huge fan base.
Was only 2007 when they had 23,000 in to watch the derby game.

| I believe they got 17,000 in last week for a dead rubber Derby at the end of a shocking season. A massive club that must frustrate their fans more than ours does!
