Looks like he has signed. Hope he comes 'on a mission'...to improve. Sounds like he has become a fringe player after a promising junior career.

Those of a certain vintage will now be expecting the second coming of Phil Blake, and will be underwhelmed if he doesn't live up to that standard. That's a bad start, if he is a new signing for 2022

| Perhaps we have been recommended by Mr Price seeing as he plays for Cronulla and could have been in Newtown Jets as a developing player when Mr Price was there first time round. Must be a confident player though won two finals at Jets one in extra time and one seconds from the end both with chips over the top for players to run on to.

Strange signing given that backrow is a position that we are already strong in.
He has not played that many 1st team games since his debut season, so I assume he will be not be being played big bucks by Wire?
Anyway, welcome aboard Billy and all the best for a successful career with Warrington.

If he wants to return to the NRL he will need a couple of good years with us, as long as he is fulfilling his contract with us I have no issue, I'd rather he was upfront about it. Lets be honest, the vast majority of players that are moving from NRL - SL would rather be in the NRL, but see the SL as a better option due to lack of opportunities or by way of extending their career for an extra couple of seasons.

I see it as a positive. I'll be trying my best so I can get a contract back in the NRL rather than "nice easy pay day before retirement."

| I'll be intrigued to see where he fits in and where Powell plays him.
Second rowers aren't something were short of. A quality prop on the other hand......

| Perhaps Powell is hoping to have a set of forwards that can go around opposing forwards & backs alike with nifty footwork & silky hands to create open free flowing rugby without the need for 5 drives & a kick.

| Ok, I’m going full on optimist now (and without any factual basis whatsoever) but I’m thinking Kelly Shelford style 13 but with a better nutritional intake

Are we??... Currie is a good player, I'll give you that. Holmes is potentially a good signing. Longstaff looks a promising player, though I wouldn't be rushing him, nor expecting the world from him just yet. Clark and Hughes are the type of uninspiring plodder that any consistently underachieving side should be looking to ship out.
So, overall, this lad looks like a (cheap) gamble worth taking, especially as we have a coach who seems to want to get away from the turgid fare we have been served up under Price.

Agreed.
If he wants an NRL contract after 2 years then he will have to be really good for us. You never know he may be great for us, get offers to go back but want to carry on with us anyway, especially if he believes he could be part of something special under Powell. Who knows? I see this statement from the player as a sign of a good attitude anyway.

| So it's confirmed he's signed. Good luck to the lad, hope he does well for us...
..HOWEVER, Wire have just posted arguably the worst highlights reel that I have ever seen..
Obviously, not going to judge him on that, but feck me, whoever is in charge of our social media needs a word. He's literally just made the club a laughing stock posting that online!!

| Not sure I get the hate-in over Magoulias. He’s a ‘Mamo of the forwards’… young, cheap and potentially will add a lot to the team. He’s everything that we don’t have on the right side, and the ball-playing and kicking game fits right in with what we’ve been crying out for now Powell is here. He’s also here to put himself in the NRL window, which as pointed out is better than a past-it her for a big payday.
If it doesn’t come off then no big loss, we have Longstaff and Hughes.
