| So we're starting on February 10th next year and we look to be missing a fair few players for the earlier start.
Harrison - ACL
Minikin - ACL
Holmes - Bulging Disc in his neck
Bullock - Major Shoulder surgery
D.Clark - Injuries resembling a car crash victim
Toby King - Surgery on Arm/elbow/Shoulder (not sure what's been done)
Crazy that 4 of these are our new recruits, not sure if there is anyone else is carrying injuries?
So we are looking light on players for the start of the season.
To be fair i don't know the recovery times for each injury but it does raise some concerns, so i assume wrench, longstaff, Thewlis, Walker etc will be starting a fair few games at the start of the season.
And we sign 2 new forwards and both are injured and on the road to recovery, so Butler and Doro will need to step up a gear.

| This seems to be a regular aspect of Wire recruitment ,starting the season with one arm tied behind the clubs back. Perhaps a big attraction to players is that they come here & we will rebuild them.

| I've also seen Ratchford with a full arm cast on.

| Hope we see a lot more of Danny Walker next year and Daryl Powell has a lot more confidence in him than Steve Price did. We can’t flog Daryl Clark anymore or the injuries will limit his impact. I think Walker already has the better passing game and if the new coach can improve his kicking game as he did with McShane all the better.
He has been criticised by some for being too small but he is a tough kid…well done Orford !

| Yeah Walker is brilliant, exited to see the progression from our players next year.
I think we're really lucky that Wrench, longstaff etc as they've played a decent amount of games and have looked brilliant.
Also Robson played and started about 6 games for Salford and Butler did the same for leigh. So that is good experience for them both.
Butler was the player i was most excited to see along with Mulhern, but when i saw him he was out of shape and never looked in shape through the whole season which was odd.
If Ade Gardner can keep him check and get him fit again i think he'll be brilliant at Prop for us. He was really Good when London we're promoted so i'm hoping Powell will get him back the that form, the same with Bullock when he first started at Wigan.

| Will be interesting to see the start of the new season.
For me, I'd love someone to get Walker to stop planting his foot telegraphing which way the pass is going, but apart from that he is very much improved and a really promising player. I'm also looking forward to seeing what a fit and confident Butler can bring to the squad - we never saw anything last year. For me, Robson isn't good enough but I am open to changing my view once Powell has had a chance to work with him and others. Thewlis, Ashton, Doro, Wrench and Longstaff - can't wait to see their development.

| The two ACL injuries are very unfortunate but I think that it's quite normal for players to be queuing up for surgery at the end of the season. Don’t expect much by way of update because I’ve heard that Daryl Powell doesn’t like to talk about injuries.

Especially at the end of this past season, games came thick and fast.
Hopefully only Minikin and Harrison will be missing come game 1, if not, 2023 can be our year instead.
The good news is that Williams & Widdop look like they will be fit and available for the start of pre season hopefully they can hit the ground running in 2022.

So long as that's not "hit the ground running" and bust an achilles pre-season, like Kevin Brown in 2019.

| Controversial but I think we'd be in a better place if D Clark had gone to the NRL and we'd used that money on a top notch prop, leaving Walker as the main #9. Ratchford and Davis to cover. Moot point and Clark is excellent, just think we've seen the best of him already.

Agree with this 100%. Been excellent, but “old” for his age in rugby terms, been battered tbh.

| I don't agree with that, Clark under a new regime a something I'm really excited about. Some dummy runners and support runners for him and I think he shows even more than he has so far for us. D Clark is a fantastic player, I'm happy with Walkers progression but at this stage he's a big step down IMO.
We need a prop in place of J Clark and I think we are looking alright, aside from injuries.

Is “controversial” a synonym for “bonkers”. The one area we look strong in, and you would voluntarily weaken it?
