| Are you happy that Warrington are postponing games at the moment? You've got 9 players who've tested positive or been identified by track and trace. But with 9 out of the first team 25, are you really suggesting you couldn't beat Leigh? Your academy could probably run Leigh pretty close on their own. With 10 or so regular first team players you'd win comfortably and give a few lads a good run out.
Why call it off just because you can under the rules? Last season there was very little disruption and players and clubs seemed to understand the need to complete the competition. Now it seems like no one cares and just want to do as little as they can. Each game that gets called off is chipping away at the reputation of the competition and must be making Sky think twice about bothering at anything like the level they do.

Warrington game postponed within the Co Vid protocol within the rules.

| Carrying on without 9 players would have been more attainable had we not have loaned out so many players, but in order to get Williams on we have lost a lot of the fringe.
While Williams could be a great signing, given the nature of the world, it may have been short sighted to lose so many players to squeeze him in. Long answer to a long question.
Short answer, if the precedent had been set to plough on I would have been annoyed, but clubs back door at every opportunity

| Bit of a different thing that. We ultimately didn't refuse to go, SL changed the fixtures and we were just about to go into lockdown at that point.
I'd be annoyed if Saints postponed a game they didn't have to. The clubs need to realise the damage they are collectively doing. 13 games and counting haven't been fulfilled. If it carries on sky can pull the funding as per the contract.

| Last season we did everything we could to play as many games as we could. Even when other teams didn't.
This season, it appears as though teams are mysteriously having covid outbreaks just before they are due to play a tough game.
"Last season there was very little disruption" - Catalans played 13 games and made the playoffs. This is patently untrue.
I'm happy for Warrington to not sacrifice results for the good of the game. No other club with covid outbreaks seemed to care about the reputation of the competition, why should we?
Super League needs to get a better grasp on the situation.

| To be fair Hull postponed their home game against us last week (Leigh) and I'm sure their remaining players + some academy one's would have beaten us. Maybe clubs are concerned about the points difference also, why beat us by 10 or 20, when you can do it by 40 or 50 ?

Stop inferring that our club is in the wrong, when the game is cancelled under RFL rules. Covid is rife and accelerating at the moment in the Warrington and Halton areas, despite this, the government lift restrictions, today. People are still contracting Covid when they've been double jabbed, the hospitals are struggling with capacity, and all you want to whinge about is a game of rugby that isn't happening.

It'll be your medical team judging close contacts who need to isolate plus positive tests. I'm not suggesting there is any wrongdoing, just wondering what people think about whether the games should go ahead. You'd beat Leigh with 9 missing, you did comfortably recently.
Sky have reduced SL to one game a week and they are no longer promoting it. It can't be a good look to be postponing games all over the place.

I'm not inferring they've done anything wrong. I trust the medical staff are doing the right thing with testing and close contacts 100%. I'm also not suggesting you're doing anything you aren't entitled to do within the rules. I just think the clubs should feel an obligation to get the games played for the sake of the sport's future.
Your point about NHS capacity is nonsense. They said yesterday hospitalisations are one sixteenth of the last wave and serious cases one twentieth. If the NHS was in danger they wouldn't have removed all the restrictions.

Ok smartarris, you go out and contract it, and see where you get to if you need hospital treatment. You're talking cobblers suggesting my point is nonsense, as I've had first hand experience over this with members of my family over the weekend.

The rate of hospitalisations isn't nonsense or as simplistic as stating its a small fraction of a previous peak. The issue is that the average stay of a Covid patient is 28 days whilst typically for elective procedures its between 3 and 5 days.
As the song goes "there maybe trouble ahead..."

| Hard to take this thread seriously when the opening post states that there was ‘little disruption’ to last season.
That in itself is a load of nonsense.

Both Leeds and St Helens refused to play Catalan in France, and got away with it.
The SL hierarchy didn`t punish either team and chickened out by altering the fixture schedule.
