Morning all,
Apologies if this has already been covered within another topic.
For those that attended on Monday, how was the experience?
What things were good and bad about the first time back for such a long time?

Hope everyone that's attending enjoys this afternoon's game,
MPN

It was good to be back.
No drinks or food available inside the stadium but it was a school night so no problem.
One way system as you would expect but that went out of the window at the final whistle.
Only thing I was a little bit vexed about was that it appeared that the whole of our block in the North stand had been moved to the NE corner and the view isn't great in the corner. I am sure that I was dropped down to a lower price band seat than what my ticket was but just happy to be back.
It was a sky game so the british Isles gets an inch closer to America in the half time break but there was nothing going on so the 15 mins dragged a bit. They could have put some old highlights on the screen in the Rodney corner rather than covid do's and dont"s

Oh, I don't know if this has been mentioned but the first half wasn't great.

All managed pretty well in my opinion. We were in an hour before kick-off, as requested, which meant a long wait. In the North stand we were well spaced (we'd also been moved to the corner). People appeared to be wearing masks throughout (unlike the football) and obeying the rules.

All in all I would say the risk of spreading the virus in the HJ is far lower than if you popped into Tesco next door.

Huddersfield were first out and applauded by the Warrington home crowd - which was nice. Nothing much for us to cheer about in the first half but the atmosphere picked up in the second.

Good to be back! We got in an hour before kick off, so was a bit of a drag hanging around for an hour pre kick off. The fact I couldn’t use alcohol to numb the affect of that first half wasn’t ideal.

We were stood towards the west stand end of the south stand. Plenty of space around us - I believe it was not as spaced out on the east stand end of the south, but didn’t see it myself. I thought we might’ve been given an area of the south stand that we could stand in but you could stand wherever- maybe designating tickets to a standing area might allow a more even spread.

I’d been considering going for a half season ticket as I’m starting to feel a bit more comfortable being out and about. The views of the stands on sky last week have put me off quite a bit though - the south just didn’t look well distanced to me. I hope I am wrong.

Yeah from what my mate said it’s a bit of a free for all in the South apprantley. Once you’re in there’s very little distancing and you can stand with who you want. He had 12 young kids stood behind him on Monday.

I was in the North yesterday in hospitality and that was well spaced out and everyone wearing masks.

Ah right LTS. So I cottoned on to the fact that the block where I normally sit was completely empty 10 mins before kick off and realised that we had been moved and dumped in the corner to accommodate the prawn sandwich brigade.
I hope you enjoyed the volovants and the view icon_biggrin.gif

If your not comfortable now. Good luck when the restrictions are removed. I'm looking forward to wigan away. 25,000 full capacity when we can really get a atmosphere back in the stadium. That's the 25th june isnt it?

I think this is a major problem of modern life. We’ve become so accustomed to benign living, we’ve had the luxury of being wrapped up in cotton wool and then a gentle hint of reality hits with a once in a generation pandemic.

I sympathise with those who suffer from the fear generated by instant media - images of suffering, constant news stories of death and disease, warning signs everywhere you go.

The fact of the matter is though, the disease affects the vulnerable almost exclusively. And the vulnerable are thankfully vaccinated. The results are in and it looks good.

For anyone not vaccinated due to being a bit younger, the virus is a minimal threat compared to bad lifestyle habits, such as not enough exercise, being overweight, drinking poison (alcohol), eating poison (processed crap foods) and so on. Those things are statistically much more dangerous for the under 60s. So if you’re a toned, fit as a fiddle teetotal vegan you’re probably justified in treating the virus as a bigger threat. However, if you like a drink, and a pie and standing in a crowd watching a game of rugby, you may as well accept your ways and just enjoy life instead of panicking about something that really isn’t the biggest problem in your life.

Things are pretty much back to normal now, the vaccine is protecting the elderly and vulnerable so let’s enjoy life. And if it turns out the vaccine doesn’t work then it tough, life has to go on anyway. In that scenario you might just want to change those bad lifestyle habits too!

I see at our stadium they ask everyone to wear a mask, that game at Leeds last night I did not see anyone wearing a mask, are all the stadiums having different approaches to this.

Not sure but it is outside so should be ‘advisable’ rather than mandatory.

Seems a bit daft to me that you can go inside a pub and sit at a table without a mask but must sit outside in a socially distanced stadium and wear one.

I'm not going to try to convince people whether they should or shouldn’t attend or put forward any theories about the virus. If you are eligible to attend, but have not yet done so, then here are my observations from the North Stand – you can make up your own minds.

There have been no queues at the turnstiles
There is a one way system in the concourse, which is well ventilated, and no crowding
Fans are well spaced but I am close enough to the people sat one row in front that we can communicate (this is the guy I would normally sit next to). He’s the closest person outside of my bubble at approx. 2m distance.
Adherence to mask wearing in the North Stand is very good.
The closest contact / crowding is whilst exiting. People bunch but, since everyone is heading the same way, it isn’t a face-to-face situation and it is for less than 5 minutes.

Are you seriously that in fear of your own health?.. Can only assume that you aren't that healthy to start with, to feel like that?
