| Morons in Warrington section chucking stuff including a bottle at Wigan players was plain stupid . Fair play to Hill and Goodwin though for trying to stop them

| A fair bit of unsavoury behaviour about today as there often is at Grand Finals, swaggering about smoking in the toilets and being generally aggressive to other people (who were all Wire fans anyway...?). The 6pm kick off invites people to spend all day drinking and also brings out the more casual fan who is more bothered about baiting the opposition than the game itself. Coming out of the ground I saw the Wigan equivalent of these Neanderthals being undignified in victory too.

| This is why I don't enjoy going to finals - people spend all day drinking & turn into aggressive s....last one for me this, no matter whether play like world-beaters next year or not.

| Must admit guys, i thought pretty much on the whole the Warrington fans were superb last night. Obviously there were some isolated incidents you speak of which i can't comment on but before the game in the Man Utd supporters bar on the canal we had a really nice afternoon. Lots of banter, clinking glasses etc...................... Then there are the idiots. Those people aren't rugby fans, they are just losers wearing your colours who have a grudge against society. Most rational people don't tar you all with the same brush. Unlucky Warrington, the best team won but you played more than well. Just no plan after the drives.

| Unfortunately I was sat next to a group of boors who either have bladders the size of a peanut or a really bad case of ADHD as they were up and down all match.

| I too don't like the GF. There are some odious types who are blind drunk and obnoxious. Coupled with the claustrophobia of the concourse it's unpleasant.

| I was behind the sticks and saw 4 "incidents" caused by drunken idiots within about 30 feet of us. Then on the row in front of me were 2 guys who were semi conscious for the whole match.
Last GF I'll be attending, all because of drunken Wire 'fans'
(I wonder if other teams fans are the same?)

Very sad. I'm afraid big matches attracts some horrible folk who usually haven't got a clue about rugby and often hardly watch the game. It's pathetic.

You could always sit away from the main supporters in a more neutral area. I was in the NW quadrant and it was fine up there. The south stand would be good and mostly neutral I suppose?

Albeit on numerous other threads we clamour to attract these sort of "fans" to fill the ground for marquee matches, just like they do in rugby union.

I think there will be drunks everywhere and for the neutrals there's even more reason to treat it just as a day on the lash.
I remember the 2013 final, I was near these two lads one of whom had a Marouane Fellaini wig, and his mate came up with the amusing chant "one fat Fellaini" for him, which had lost its humorous appeal by the 30th time his mate had stood up and turned around with his arms in the air while he chanted it. Fat Fellaini spent the first half of the game celebrating Warrington scores baiting the Wigan fans dotted around (it was a neutral area) with various hand gestures. Second half of the game, when Wigan came back, me and the other Wire fans near me had to put up with Fat Fellaini celebrating every Wigan try by climbing over the empty seats in front of us to stand in front of our row, spanking his own @rse and cawing like a monkey. Being as we were mostly families people just shook their heads resignedly but I can imagine what would have happened if some of the more lubricated less tolerant Wire fans were in the vicinity.
The Challenge Cup final never seems to be as bad, I think its because of the earlier kick off and also the extra effort and cost involved that puts off people who are just up for a reasonably cheap reason to have a mickey up. The best spirit seemed to be on the days when it was on the road at Cardiff and Edinburgh, those were great atmospheres and never had any trouble there.
Is there a reason for the Grand Final being 6pm kick off? It's not like it's after work on a week day or needing people to travel large distances to Manchester from RL heartlands? Greater Manchester Police would never allow City v United or United v Liverpool to kick off late and allow people to have drunk all afternoon.

| I think the 6pm kick off is a perfect time for a game tbh as it allows a relaxed morning/afternoon in the build up whether that involves none RL family time or a leisurely lunch liquid or otherwise. As the evening draws in the atmosphere changes it's game on floodlights and fireworks all add to the drama IMO. at 8.00pm it's a decision to head home with your family, not too late for those with youngsters or a long journey or stay out and make a full day of it.
It is disappointing to hear of incidents and yes I did see the beer throwing (totally out of order and a waste of beer), but I also had plenty of craic with fellow Warringtonians, Wigan and Saints fans in Manchester on trams and also after the match at the Dockyard PH near the Lowry when you might have thought that the mood might have 'deteriorated' it was anything but.

Good atmosphere in the Dockyard before the game, in our section you could not take drinks up to the seats

| At least no one has tried to label them football fans this time, or claim that the people throwing bottles from the Wire end are not Warrington fans. Yes, they might be idiots but if they're there to watch us then others will rightly see them as Warrington fans.
Not a good image for the sport on its grand occasion, with an unusually high number of casual fans watching on TV. There will always be a small minority of nobheads in most clubs' support, we seem to have more than most. Thankfully the vast majority of supporters are well-behaved.

It's annoying and bloody embarressing. Some eejit lobbed a pint at the ref at saints when lineham scored his first.
It's only gong to end up affecting the club, they were quite ed off about it earlier this year as we were putting a world cup hosting bid in.
