| Great to see him back. He was unplayable for a short spell.
Some utter shat posted by Mario on the locked topic, all wrapped up like he was a journalist. Well done mods.

| As much trouble as he was i'd still have him back in a heartbeat... with faith in Prices man management skills to keep him in line. I'd hate to see him playing for another SL team

| A great player, but with more baggage than Heathrow Terminal 5.
A bucketful of trouble

| Absolute waste of talent that lad. Surely if he was to sign for KR we would be on the phone to them or the RFL clarifying our position in terms of compensation with him running out on his contract? Surely he cant just waltz back into England and start playing again?

| Would prefer us to re-sign Sandow rather than Eastmond.

| With all the baggage Sandow brought with him, no thanks. Not worth it for 8 decent games in 18 months.

| I can't comment on the 'trouble' aspect - only lots of peeps saying he was (not disputing that) - but he was virtually unplayable when he first came here and had the x factor which I've not seen for a long time.
Eastmond ? Well I'm no real judge but I can't honestly say I'm over-enthusiastic. Then again I've been wrong almost as much as Tony Smith over recruitment..... (Only joking Tony)

And Warrington managed to win the League Leaders Shield and reach two major finals off the back of those 8 decent games, or maybe we weren't a one man team and it was down to Tony Smith's shrewd recruitment assembling a top class squad around him!

| Some people would take a gamble on the likes of Sandow and Eastmond, others would prefer safer options:
We already have a strong squad and I don't see the point in paying good dollar for a slight up-grade or players who basically add the same skill sets as the players we already have. If we were consistently mid-table and lower then fair enough, but we aren't. Look at the benefit one x-factor addition has made to a solid squad at saints this season. If Sandow could have avoided injury at Wigan, he could have lead us to some silverware; at the very least, treated us to some wonderful crowd enticing skills- as shown by our capacity crowd v Widnes during his spell with us.
A fair number of people have been bemoaning our lack of a descent half for many years since Briers left. Briers himself was a maverick, he too fitted into the temperamental mould of the above mentioned players. You can't really have it both ways-you have to except a bit of mediocrity or be prepared to take a risk if you want to see some quicksilver in a wire shirt.
I say take the risk. At the very least it's going to make the games more exciting, present more magical moments and bring back the speccys again- it's no coincidence that our best attendances over any period of time have coincided with exciting players to watch.

| Sandow hasn't even been playing Queensland Cup this year. The last I remember seeing of him was a filmed drunken street fight. Forget the Sandow of 2015/16, he's not done anything of note on a rugby field for at least two years.
In that respect Eastmond would probably be less of a risk, as he at least has looked after himself physically. I've no idea on what basis anyone thinks he'd be a star halfback though, he barely played a full season there for Sts, and spent the time after he announced he left trying to avoid getting hurt. In any event if he came back next year it would be 8 years since he left RL. That's a long time to be out of the game. He could be a centre, but would he be worth marquee money?

He stank the place out when he first came over in Aug 15 (I accept it was always going to take time for him to adjust), his debut against Leeds was less than memorable and didn’t really improve till he had a magnificent start to the 2016 season - 8 games (I think) till he got injured away at Wigan. After that on his return he never reached the heights, and was never better than ok. I’d say Roberts looks a far better signing in my eyes than Sandow ever was.
