| Talk coming out of Aus...
The RL World Cup is coming around again and the talk is Sonny wants to play league again!
Mr SJM....I beg you break the bank and get him over to Wire. It would be the biggest global investment in a player a RL club could ever make. The biggest name in both codes.
Warrington Wolves will be on every ones lips and we'd have sponsorship and tv deals coming out of our ears!

| Forget it, he is going to Sydney Roosters, after the World cup in 2019. By then he will be 35.

| When I saw the title I thought you were suggesting we pay Super Bennie Westwood to stay on...personally I would but sentiment don't win prizes sadly.

| At a reported 900k PA, that would have to be an awful lot of pies sold to cover the cost.

Put a penny a mushy pea levy on them.

Exactly my thoughts too, stay well away, he's a complete mercenary, selling his talent to the highest bidder.
Somehow can't really blame him to boost his retirement fund whichever way he can, but I don't think having him around for 6/12/18 mths would really give us any positive long term benefit.

| Indeed. Absolutely no sense at all in signing the biggest name in world rugby. What possible good could come from that? Johns played 3 games and im sure most fans were pleased he came.

| Oh yes, you're right.
SBW playing off the distribution of Brown & Patton is all we need to win a GF.

| You could put the Kangaroos side in Wire shirts and we'd probably still lose the GF

| There should be no problem if SBW sells his talent to the highest bidder as long as he uses those talents!
All players are auctioning themselves at every contract negotiation. Whoever we pay for needs to produce the goods at the level expected.
At this time is he the right age to warrant the sums involved?

| Rarely are there players where the level of skill they have propels a team to prominence.
A player like Mal Meninga did with Saints.
There are 2 players around today that can have that level of clout.
SBW and Inglis.
If SJM and Middleton are serious about making Warrington the Man Utd of RL....we need to be in for signing one if not both the later.

Lets hope the strategy doesn't lead us to Leeds Utd, rather than the Man Utd!!

| Anyone who says no thanks to SBW even for half a season is an idiot. Who cares if he clears off after his payday? he'd be worth every penny.
Think of what the younger lads would learn off of him. The media coverage. The shirt sales. The extra tickets we'd sell just so people can watch him play, from both home and away fans.
SBW would be a true Marquee signing.
