So according to the Doc this has been approved. Its a double edge sword for me. On one hand we can bring some real talent into the Super League but at what expense. Salford have proved that spending big on players leaves your youth team to suffer and they haven't exactly lit the competition up either. Teams like Warrington, Wigan, Saints and Leeds will be able to afford to bank role a player but teams like Cas, Wakefield, Huddersfield won't. I think this will destroy the youth game to be honest. Whats everyones thoughts?

Even the NRL is suffering from their youth choosing Aussie Rules over rugby & that is why they are coming over taking our best players or our players who they can develop to suit NRL. Most of their talent is now made up of old stagers who fans over here will not see the best of.

Perhaps as an exciting twist to SL 2016 there should be a mid season fan vote to whether or not your Marquee Signing is still worthy of that title, or if you can 'evict' them and sign someone better.

Super League clubs vote for marquee player rule from 2016

Super League clubs have voted for a marquee player rule to come into force in 2016, which will allow teams to make top signings with part of their finances outside the salary cap.
The proposal, twice rejected, was approved at the league's Annual General Meeting in Manchester on Wednesday.
Currently the cap of £1.85m per club must cover the salaries of the whole playing squad.
Salford owner Marwan Koukash tweeted: "Fantastic day for Super League."
Clubs in Super League, such as Salford and Warrington, have been keen to bring in a marquee player rule in order to attract top talent from the National Rugby League in Australia and New Zealand, as well as retain the best players amid interest from the NRL and rugby union.
