Thinking of getting a home shirt online but its difficult to gauge what size as previous years I have bought XL found them too small and other years fine, anyone who has bought one are they generous sizes or small if that makes sense

I'm normally XL but had to buy 2XL.

I'm normally a 2xl/3xl in tshirt, but have to buy a 5xl/6xl in our shirts. Go figure. I'm not getting into this again!

If size XL is too small then unless you're about seven feet tall you should be buying an exercise bike, not a new shirt.

I blame the Mrs - I'm 100% sure over Christmas she has been washing ALL my clothes on a very hot wash - because all of them seem too small and tight now for some reason...........

I think the shirts are definitely smaller this year. Two of my mates who usually take a large are in medium and I am usually in a small, but this year I am wearing an XS, which is exactly the same size as last year's small when compared side by side (I am 5'8" and just under 12 stone, so I'm not a complete midget waif either).

Britain is just getting American-style fat, that's all.

I think you need to check your wardrobe for dampness ...my clothes seem to shrink spontaneously too ,but then again i have just come back off my jollies & i noticed that easy jet have managed to fit smaller seatbelts over the last fortnight !

Apologies for the pedantry, but, doesn't your post suggest that the shirts are getting bigger?

she may of tumbled dried them many of my clothes have been through the tumble dryer I swear they would fit little Jimmy krankie now......

Inciteful input on this topic as always. So THAT'S were I've been going wrong all these years...

Thanks for all of the useful input I think, anyway gone for the 2XL on the basis I can always get it shrunk if need be !!!!

Go to club shop
try one on which you think might fit
It it fits, purchase
If it doesn't, go a size up or down to accommodate your original misjudgement, and then purchase.

I can't help thinking if I'm overly sarcastic today, or just surrounded by numpties.

P.S. Shirts are to be worn on the upper body. HTH for those who are confused.
