| I've decided to risk boredom, and watch a stream of this.
Up to now, not a great deal of entertainment, it's just brutal.
One of the Burgess boys is going to be eating soup for a few days.

| Half time. Not exactly riveting entertainment.
Souths deserve their lead. Bulldogs very one dimensional.
Still brutal.

| Still enjoying it despite the lack of creativity and open play.
Was perturbed by Ashton Sims being in the 'Retirement Parade'!
I've kept an eye on him the last few weeks and if he plays with the same commitment and does the same minutes for us as for North Queensland he'll be a success over here.
And as I type the satellite signal appears to have a fault.

| Final score a little flattering, but comfortably the better team.
Brutal all the way through, but more entertainment on a kipper's nipple. Give me a SL game, any day.

| Got to respectfully disagree.
I do understand as I've seen plenty of dull and tedious NRL games this year, but that was a hugely and thoroughly enjoyable event.

| Whatever floats your boat, Riddler.
It left me colder than 6 hour old porridge.
It's been a long time since I sat through an NRL game......this morning's fayre backed up my reasoning (for me, anyway).

| NRL is very very defensive based. Some like it some hate it. I love it but my dad loathes it

| Not having sky sports i don't watch NRL but is it generally a less adventurous game than SL in terms of throwing the ball about entertainmen? Is the general feeling that SL is better to watch unless you want brutality ?
I believe the highlights are on S4C at 2 30 so i might watch them.

NRL is more entertaining IMO. Some of the playoff games and weekly round games have been out of this world. I've watched it week in week out this season through PS. It just worked out the grand final was very conservative and defence orientated with one team clearly on the back foot but still hanging in there until the final 15.
In the playoffs a team was 30-0 down and came back to 30 all only to lose 31-30 in the last minute, that's not conservative. What seems to happen most in the NRL is it's very defence and forward orientated in the first half then the pace lifts and becomes more open in the second half with the game reaching an end to end creschendo. The pace and brutality in the first half before the pace lifts in the 2nd half is the same as the wigan warrington game on friday.

| it wasn't a great game but what an occasion.
on 78 minutes when Burgess was down on his knees crying like a baby realising what he had achieved was one of the most emotional moments in sport I've seen.
had that been in a soccer game or a union game it would be all over the news. all we will get though is union bound player plays entire game with broken cheekbone.
Incidentally I think souths have the worst halves in the competition if Adam Reynolds wasn't such a fabulous goal kicker he wouldn't get near a top team. luckily they didnt have John Sutton playing in the halves alongside him as Luke Keary is a bit better than him.
and so disappointed in Josh Reynolds and Trent Hodkinson very ordinary today.

| I enjoyed this morning's game, but Hunslet v Oldham just now was 100 times more entertaining, incredible!
Nice to see Sankey lad Crowley perform well too.

| Watched the highlights and loved the defence, forwards seem more brutal than SL. When the try was scored in the very corner that would never of happened in UK GF as the pitch(in goal area) is far too small. Also with the slope at OT it would be dangerous. I hate Rugby at OT for this reason and much prefer it at the etihad.

| I watched it on Premier sports yesterday, on the face of it they certainly appear to play a different type of RL than we see most weeks in SL. Although I think most of this comes from their tackling (in all areas of the park) being so much better than ours!
