I really don't want to jinx Saturday but I am looking at travel to Wembley for the final and my problem is this;

We (the wife and kids) are travelling to Burnham-on-Sea (near Weston-Super-Mare) on the 22nd to spend the weekend with her Dad (we don't get to see him that often) but, knowing my allegiance to all that is Wire and good, the wife has said I'm allowed to go to the game. Now, I'd much rather not drive all the way there for the fear of parking, taking ages to get in / out etc etc so I was wondering what people believe my best option would be?

Train takes about 3.5 hours with a couple of changes, do I drive halfway then get a train the rest, do I drive to the most easternly tube station and make my way in like that?

All options would be helpful?

I think you may find that approaching the capital from that side with regard to Wembley bound traffic will not be a problem unless RL has many followers in the West Country . May be a look at the underground map would help you .

Thanks for the advice ninearches. I've had a look at the underground map and, even though i'm an experienced tube rider (ooo err!!) it isn't hugely clear which is the most easternly station to park at.

I'll might have another look around 4.30pm tomorrow afternoon.

I would drive to Gerrards Cross (just off the M25 and 2 hours 20 minutes according to Google Maps), park at the rail station and catch a direct train to Wembley Stadium, quickest of which takes 16 minutes.

I would avoid driving into West London as the traffic is always crap, and getting a tube takes ages and you would have to change to get to Wembley.

Ok by Car you'll be using the M4.

If you religiously want to stick to the tubes, i'd go M4, come off at West Drayton junction and park at Uxbridge, get the Met Line into Wembley from Uxbridge Station.

You could get lucky and not hit anything, it's 50/50 though.

Gerrards Cross from that direction is a bit out your way tbh.

Nah, I used to live there and it's only 10 minutes from the M4.

Isn't there pretty good industrial estate parking near B&Q in Chiswick just of the M4 /A4 ? You could probably get a tube from there.
