Daryl Clark signs for Wire from next season

Actually, if correct, this is news. Clark signed for Wire months ago but recently wanted to back out. If Moran has persuaded him to stay, possibly with an enhanced deal, it is really good news.

Aside from the fact that this is all just made up speculation, what a ridiculous situation it would be if a player signed a contract and then said he wanted to back out of the deal, and the owner of the club had to enhance that contract to get him to honour it.

I think a fair few other players might try that one if they hear the owner is a soft touch.

That's life I am afraid. Clark has really pushed on this year, and what is to stop anyone from asking for a transfer. I seem to recall we got Carvell from Hull just after he agreed a contract with them, and Carvell signed with Bradford in the close season then went back to Hull. There are only really two things that motivate a player; money and glory.

They were speaking to castlefords chairman and his son and the comment made by the chairman was that they have lost Daryl to warrington for next year
I can only say what my son says and he doesn't make statements often especially regarding rumour signings

Or are we basing this on an off the cuff comment by Dave Woods who was only quoting the rumour mill ie places like this?

As you say Clark has really pushed on this year so his value is greater than it was last year. So if Clark asks for a transfer from Warrington the two clubs should be negotiating a fee to allow him to return to Cas: but one which is higher than what we supposedly paid Cas in the first place to allow him to come to us.

Cas should really be pushing the boat out to re-sign him as he is a top player so it would be a big signal for them, are they a selling club or are they a club willing to go out and spend big to attract the top players and compete at the top.

I was told last year by somebody that works at castleford that clark had signed, warrington had paid cas the money at the time to ease their financial troubles with the agreement that he stay's for another year and clark was VERY happy to be joining warrington..

Apart from Kallum Watkins, Clark is the English player i was hoping to see come to the NRL.

Until he's pictured holding up a Wire shirt in the HJ after signing a contract in front of some press, I don't believe a word of any of this Clark talk. It's been going on too long.
