| Hi everyone I not totally new to RFL having been to a match before a few years ago, but I have decided to broaden my intrests and what better way than RFL.
I live in Crewe and have decided that Warrington is the team to support, so I am wondering if there is anyone that will 'take me under there wing' so I can get up to speed and become a better supporter of Warrigton Wolves.
Any advice would also be welcomed, I hope to make it to games from next month.
Thanks everyone

| I don't get to many games which is no good for you but I would have been happy to.
Sorry that doesn't help.
I'm a social animal and contrary to some posters opinions I do know quite a bit.
I'm sure there is someone on here who could help you.
What has got you into the game out of interest and how long have you been interested in RL?

Are you a cop?
Seriously, though: if you're ever at home games in the South Stand, feel free to come stand with me at the back around the 40m line closest to the West Stand.
I'll be happy to explain what I can of the basics for you, too, Even via message. I have been trying to explain the rules to someone who is completely new to the sport whilst watching games recently and it is a lot more difficult than I had anticipated, but It's good fun.

| Rule 2
The sport's called rugby league not RFL.
I presume you are using the phrase RFL like people would say "I follow NFL" or "I follow AFL" but in rugby league nobody calls it that, the RFL is just the governing body. Saying you want to start following RFL is like saying you want to start watching the FA.

| I think that you have picked the perfect time to become a new supporter, as it appears that we are back to our unpredictable best.
The recent spate of success and with a settled top of the league, Challenge Cup Winning, GF side is 'so last year' and if you'd have picked any season between 2009 and 2013 to declare your allegience to the Primrose and Blue you might have been dubbed by some of the ill informed, as a Johnny Come Lately/Glory Hunter.
Welcome aboard and in my opinion you've made a great choice of club to get behind. We might still pull a rabbit out of the hat this year, as Rule 3 states that it is Always Our Year

Are you looking to stand up or sit down?
Standing up can be ok, if you go in the south stand, make sure you dont get stuck next to one of these fekin drummers... also with the south stand you get huge queues for ale/food.
One thing about warrington is it has alot of undesirable characters (like cat)... these always go in the southstand... its a stand i try to avoid... i like to stand in the away end, as there is usually less queuing and you arent cramped for space.
The next 2 home games are
* Leeds on Friday 30th may (you should try and get to this one really)
* Salford June 22nd
The leeds game should be decent. Be a good atmosphere in the away end as well... DO NOT go in the away end when we play salford.
if you like to sit down then you have the rest of the ground to pick from.
Loads of pubs close to the ground as well, so its happy days

| Best of luck - I'm a relatively new convert myself having married into it.
Best advice is to go to a couple of matches and try not to worry about picking everything up straight away. One of the great joys of the game is that it can be enjoyed with little understanding of the rules.. it immediately obvious when a great piece of skill have caused a break in the line.
The rules and terminology will come in time - and if you watch Sky Sports for any length of time you'll notice that commentators of 20 years still struggle with both.

| Welcome. Personally, if I were you I'd try and get down the the Etihad on Sunday for magic weekend. Mingle with loads of different fans, good craic and you'll see the Wire fans at their best!

Mmm, couple of years too late for that, we're now a bunch of cynical moaners again.

We were a bunch of cynical moaners when we were smashing teams all over in 2011.
Booing if the other team scored first; moaning that we didn't score on every set. It's what we do best.

I second this. You'll get to see various teams play, talk to their supporters, and absorb the atmosphere. It should give you a good feel for what our sport, and everything that goes with it, is about.
