Looking on the bright side (someone has to ), yesterdays result means there will c30,000 people in Warrington who anticipated spending about £100 each (AGAIN!) on a ticket/travel/food & drink etc on another trip to Wembley. That's about £3m that can now be spent locally instead ......

However, the complete opposite will be happening over on Humberside. A lot of their fans hadn't planned on a trip to Wembley so now have to find that £100 from somewhere (Wonga website will be in meltdown today!), and then not spend it in an area of the country that really can't afford to lose £3m from it's local economy.

I never understood the Smith jibes, he's always fair in his assessment of games, praises the opposition no matter what, never boasts or brags or make outlandish statements, has a good philosophy on entertainment over structure, and takes defeat well regardless of any circumstances.

Always thought the same at Leeds too? Strange how being magnanimous and honest to the point of not overstepping into disrespect is seen as being smug and conceited?

Tony Smith has stood on the pitch and shook the hands of every single player of the opposition in a few games where he's deemed it an appropriate thing to do and has also been in the changing rooms of an opposition to wish them well.

I have to say I agree. Smith is a really classy dignified guy. He generally does not have a thing to say about other clubs etc unless it is complimentary. We could do with a lot more coaches like him in the game.
