| I see Gary has been appointed as Swinton coach. For those not familiar, he is currently the Wire U19 coach. I have to say I am a little surprised at this, but good luck to him. Does this mean he has cut his ties with Wire ? Or will the Swinton job be part time. I have no idea how much work is involved in the new job. And who is likely to take the U19 job ?
Perhaps Walter can shed a little light.

If he has gone, then good luck to him. A tremendous servant to the Wire over many years.

| Well I hate to say I told you so! I feel so sorry for Swinton supporters. They have stuck with their club for years being moved pillar to post and the board have done a great job of keeping the Swinton name alive, then in the space of a few months a once proud club has been reduced to a mere sham.

I would like to pass on my personal thanks and best wishes to Chambo on his appointment. He is one of the nicest guys you could wish to meet and also an EXCELLENT coach.
I hope he is a ROARING success at the Lions I am certain that he will be.
I am sure there will be an announcement from the Wolves in the very near future regarding Gary's successor.

| I have heard that GC is a sound guy, he will have some work to do win all of us Swinton fans over. There is some rather upset lions fans atm. I was all of DR at the start of the season, but the way in which we are embracing it now has started some alarm bells ringing. Still if GC comes in and we win the next ten I imagine he will be a hero before long. RL is all about results I suppose.

| Can't see this being a popular appointment with the Warrington Lions fans.
Best of luck to him though obviously, great servant.

It's a part-time role as he has a job, oddly the same as Steve Mc, as a teacher. He will be Swinton Lions coach and no longer be involved with Warrington.

So you knew before Gary and everyone else that he would be coach? How and why are Swinton a mere sham, obviously in your opinion and not that of the people involved for many years?

I predicted on here the day that Steve resigned that someone from Warrington would replace him. I think I also predicted it way back in the summer when the whole thing was first announced.
How are Swinton a sham? Let's look at the squad on Sunday that faced Donny. By my count nine Warrington players (the lads who 'signed' on the quiet to all intents and purposes are still Wire players for mine) were in the squad. According to Scott Murrell's programme notes the other week lads turned up to play in Warrington gear, accompanied by the Warrington video man and other staff. Chris Bridge 'forgot' about training but was still picked to play a few weeks ago. I could go on all night but you get the picture. I have it on good authority that the Swinton (proper) players are getting sick and considering their future with the club.
The way Swinton have laid back and allowed us at Warrington to exploit the club is a disgrace, and an insult to the competition, fans and players past/present.

I cannot help thinking something is amiss at the Lions. I have an awful feeling that the money has dried up. Our board is skint and the only way we can continue to play is by being your rent boys. Our board has always held the supporters in contempt giving our little or no information about the club. They almost moved us to Darwen a few years ago without telling us. I really dont know where we go from here.

I suspect that is the case tbh. What happened to the new ground? That has all gone very quiet (again). This is all very sad to see.

Latest rumor is that the club has upset Folly Lane who were to be their partner in the new ground and Folly has walked away. Its a shambles!

Doesn't surprise me. The bizarre way the club acted in the week running up to Swinton v Leigh last year tells you a lot.

Our board has delusions of grandeur. They think that people care what they think. We are the worst run club in the world of sport and not just RL. No information, an unapproachable board, fans treated like the enemy. Im fed up to say the least.
