That was simply brilliant, really enjoyed the whole day.

Fantastic stuff from Europe, Ian Poulter was immense and Massive raps to Justin Rose in sinking Phil Mickleson.

On a side note, will we ever see Tiger Woods get back to his best? he looks shot and a shadow of his former self after his personal problems.

Back to the Ryder Cup I reckon they should do this for the Davis Cup in tennis as well, have Europe v USA, imagine how good we'd be then, Andy Murray instead of being surrounded by crap Brits, would have Federer, Nadal and Djovokic alongside him. We would kick america's butt.

Justin Rose beating Mickelson from 1 down on the tee at the 17th was amazing stuff..... To bury that putt on 17 after Mickelson pulled the flag out for that chip shot was the stuff of legends.

The Ryder cup never fails to deliver... i cant think of any other sporting event that can rival the last day of the Ryder cup for drama and tension.

I thought that the final nail in the US coffin was when Jim Furyk completely bottled it in the last 2 holes to give Europe a point. Great to hear those 'USA, USA,' chants suddenly fade away. Also interesting that the Wigan Walk is also very well known in Chicago. Those fans didn't half leave quickly.

When I saw LeftyG had started this thread, I'd assumed he was doing a u-turn on Waterhouse.

I'm not much of a golf fan myself but you have to respect Europe beating USA in their own back yard in any sport. What was funny was this morning's Nicky Cambell show on Radio 5. He picked a theme of 'What was the greatest sporting comeback ever' inspired by yesterday's Ryder Cup result. As might have been expected sundry wendyball fans came on claiming that various extremely ordinary league matches (including QPR v Newcastle twenty years ago ) were much bigger events! Talk about delusional.

Nigel Benn coming back from a 1st round knock down to win with a stoppage in the 10th against Gerald McClellan was an amazing come back.... i remember being 18 at the time and i was heavily into boxing... I watched on in awe that night as Benn just stood there and declared war in the ring.

Because of what actually happened to McClellan, Benn never really got the plaudits that display deserved.

I think that's the best sporting comeback i have ever seen.

Surely the greatest comeback of all time was seen at New Craven Park the other week, as the tenacious Wigan Warriors fought back from the dead to clinch the much-coveted League Leaders' Shield?
