Was it last season or before when TS came out and said we needed to learn how to build pressure in games and not necessarily look to score every play? This needs reiterating this week and I am sure it will be. I think we'll see much improved games across the board this week and the game is coming at an ideal time for me. We need confidence with ball in hand, and this is the perfect game for it.

Hope we get in to our stride gently, and then absolutely massacre them once they are ed.

Given Widnes's results so far this year and some of the cricket scores that have been put past them i'd say the above is not far off the under statement of the year, Widnes are still basically a championship side playing in SL and not a very good one, so far they have only beaten a Wigan team that contained a load of kids and had virtually all their key players missing and London Bronquins who are more than capable of bombing out against poor opposition.

Have been a bit worried about this game all season really, thinking that despite being on the wrong side of a few cricket scores this season, Widnes will really get up to face us and treat it like their Cup Final.

Ideally we'll quell any early pressure and then power on to a convincing win ahead of the huge game in Perpignan, but I do actually expect it to be a pretty tough battle for most of the match. Yes, their win against Wigan was partly due to Wane resting players, but it did show they can be capable of decent rugby if they complete sets and man up defensively.

Fingers crossed my worries will be completely unfounded, and the Vikings fans who chanted 'We Want Warrington' when they heard the licence announcement will be brought crashing back to earth.

A decent performance to complement a resounding victory is what matters in the Widnes game.

The problem, though, is that TS has been saying that for the past month or so too, and the players don't seem to be listening.

Not that I believe it's all doom and gloom. Something isn't clicking, for whatever reason, but I'm sure it will. Hopefully soon!

I don't buy this 'just do enough on thursday' thing. We must treat Widnes as THE big game of the weekend. Hit some form and think about Monday come Friday morning.

Agreed. By trying to be "just doing enough" we could end of on the wrong end of a scoreline against Widnes and then up against in France. Personally I would say "ensure we beat Widnes, if we get a result at Cats even better"

The players will not be thinking about Monday at all...its just about tonight and two points.

Steady start, build some pressure with good tackling and kicking...let them make some mistakes and punish them...play in their half and don't push it too much in our own half.
